The pho tai is decent, tasty broth. Not a fan of the bun bo hue. Ordered it for take out and the noodles were overcooked and all mushy. The meat in the soup was so chewy and tough that i couldnt even swallow it. The young girl at the cashier (probably owner's daughter) was very sweet and polite. Called me "miss", asked me how my day was, even asked if i wanted some hot tea while I waited for my order.Thats unheard of at a viet restaurant! So cute:)

I was looking for a good pho place in Monterey Park and I remembered a noodle place in a plaza near orange and garvey but wasn't sure if it was vietnamese. This place is fairly new its small but modern and clean. There are two lcd tvs to look at. Service was friendly prices were reasonable. Definitely be back!

I was craving pho and dropped by since it was open early. The broth lacked some flavor and did not hit the spot for me. Although, my gf ordered beef stew w / noodles, and she really enjoyed it. Not that many places make it real good. I would say that dish might be 4 stars, but I only took a quick taste.

Better than the Original. The original place (on Valley in Alhambra) was good back in it's day, but this place really brings back the good memories. The broth was just amazing. The portion was a good size also. I ordered the special (always a must every time I go to a new pho place), and wasn't disappointed in the least. Give this place a try, there's more parking in the back, but this places parking can be an issue. I just park in the street. Remember, live well, but eat better.

"2 number 18's, one meat on the side" is what the owner said to my friend and I one weekend. That's how often I come here and yes, apparently I order the same thing every weekend. How can I not when their broth is just so freaking good. A suggestion before coming here on the weekends...get here early before noon rush hour if you can, they only have a handful of parking spaces which fills up quickly.

Consistent good food quality. They happily provide side requests, which is really nice. Everyone I've referred agrees and are return customers.

The only Noodle City I knew of was the one on Valley and I am not a fan of that one so when my cousin told me that we were going to eat at Noodle City on Garvey, I was curious to see if this was going to be a place to "pho"get about. Noodle City is actually located in a very new plaza on Garvey. I usually don't venture out to the Rosemead area so I didn't even know it existed. I always go to Pho 79 so in terms of ambiance this Noodle City wins! The chairs are not sticky, there are booths, there are flat screen tv's, the menus are not sticky and the place is gasp, clean! The menu is also huge! I ordered the rice with pork chop and egg while most of my party ordered the pho. My dish was very flavorful and I enjoyed it. I can't wait to try to pho next time. You can definitely come here for a meal that is under $10 and in these recession times, you have to love a place that gives you a satisfying meal for an alexander hamilton.

I came here with my parents for a late Saturday lunch because we heard that they had really good pho!! even though we went around 2, the place was packed. we waited maybe 5 minutes to get seated because they were cleaning the tables I ordered pho with everything in it. The soup was very flavorful and the portions were a good size. there was a lot of meat! my dad ordered the same thing and he LOVED it! he finished it in like 5 minutes...haha I guess someone was really hungry my mom ordered the shrimp vermicelli....they gave a lot of shrimp...and the fish sauce was tasty! she approved we also ordered the egg rolls...the best I've ever had!!! it wasn't greasy like other pho places...it also comes with cucumbers and carrots...it was yummy!!! parking lot seemed small and hectic so we parked on the street! I will be back...although I don't know which is better...pho pasteur or this place

I have been to this Viet joint so many times I can't even remember. Not because it's good but because it's convenient to my parents' house. Have had the pho, vermicelli bowl and spring rolls. The rolls are rather expensive - at least for Monterey Park. But not bad in terms of taste. The pho broth is not as good as the now defunct Pho Hoa (on Atlantic Ave.). Sometimes, it's just slightly salty. Too much MSG? The ver. bowl is in the mid-range of mediocrity. The grilled pork slices are not moist, yet they are not crispy either = the worst of both worlds. In terms of atmosphere, it's nice for a simple diner. The ordering system is computerized, so it looks quite high-tech. Like most Viet joints, the restaurant is run by a bunch of Viet guys who always seem to be watching NBA games. The customers are Viet-Chinese or Mainland Chinese. It's hilarious watching the latter trying to order. On weekends, you get a lot of these young Asian kids (so epic!) who come for the cheap eats. Overall, nothing to write home about and not much to complain. Does not stand out. Three stars.

One of the best tasting Pho in the valley. Service is good, food is great! My 1st review was a blip. Plus they take credit cards!

BEST PHO I'VE EVER HAD!! Better than Golden Deli! + minus the long line! Clean, fast, and economical!! Decided to try this pho place because it has 4 stars on Yelp~ Not busy at 7pm on a Wednesday, then customers came in gradually afterwards. For 2 people, we ordered something rather traditional for trying out the restaurant for the first time: P1: Special Combo w/ Rare Slices of Steak, Well-Done Brisket, Flank, Tendon & Tripe yelp.com/biz_photos/nood… A15: Special Noodle City Tiny Rice Vermicelli & Vegetable yelp.com/biz_photos/nood… The food came out under 10 minutes. Their Spring Roll is really a bomb! It's crispy, delicious, and it gives you a flavor of mushroom! Awesome. Soup Noodle was super and flavorful. I like to add chili, lime juice, and herbs to the soup. The Special Noodle City Tiny Rice Vermicelli & Vegetable came with Spring Roll, Shrimp Paste, and BBQ Pork (all these for $8.95!!). BBQ Pork was great. Shrimp Paste is served on a Sugarcane. You eat the Shrimp Paste and chew the Sugarcane at the same time, which gives the Shrimp Paste a sweet & juicy flavor. Graded A!! A is for A-mazing! Service was nice too! yelp.com/biz_photos/nood… Meals under $10! I am coming back again and looking forward to try other dishes like the Crab Noodles!! Free parking in lot~

I don't usually write reviews after only one visit to a place unless I'm either moved by my experience or because chances are I probably won't be back. Noodle city's staff are all very friendly and the place is pretty clean and large. I asked a stupid question when I got to the counter. I really just went in to grab something new while I waited for my meat pies from the place next door. I didn't completely read the sign on the door before going in. This is Vietnamese place and I was asked if they had a Chinese dish. Well I took a glance at the menu hoping something jumped out at me. I saw chicken curry and ordered that to go. The to go packaging was excellent, perfectly sealed and everything was appropriately separated. My dish was unfortunately not a winner. The curry was thin and watery, it didn't taste bad per say, just lacked that strong bite you get from a great dish of curry. The noodles were good and plentiful and the chicken itself was OK. I understand that curry varies between cultures but I've had better in other Vietnamese joints. Don't think I'd back, instead I would rather spend the cash next door.

The food was really yummy. My BFF and I ordered the shrimp egg rolls, chicken noodle pho and something else with chicken. We got our shrimp egg rolls and our something else. We finish our food. We waited like 15 minutes...20minutes... And where is our pho?! It never came!!! So...my final report is that the food was yummy but the service...the worst. No one came to check on us, refill our water? It was just my BFF and I and 2 waitresses and no one came!!!!! I give it 3 stars cuz the food was good.

I always love their vermicelli with charbroiled pork. But recently I was craving a warm soup. They have a large selection of pho, but have been hesitant because the one time I had pho the broth tasted like it was from dirty sweat socks. I decided that I was going to give it one more try. I was open for suggestions and was told to try the Seafood Pho. The broth was fantastic! So fantastic that I was thinking about it all week and had to go back a few days later to try the noodles and broth with the charbroiled pork. It was the best soup I have ever had! I ate as much as I could, yet I couldn't finish it. They give you a nice hearty bowl. And the best part of this place is the price. Everything is so inexpensive. I can come out of there paying less than $25, tax and tip included, for both mine and hubby's meal.

This place is excellent. Thai Iced Tea is amazing and their Dry Pho (Pho with no broth and your choice of meat) is awesomistic. Regular pho is great too. Only weird thing is they are close on Tuesdays. I always seem to want to go there on a Tuesday... bummer. Bring cash, credit cards = $10+ only. Overall AOK!

My sister and her boyfriend recommended Noodle City to us. It is right across from our tax place so we decided to check it out. I didn't try their pho but their Com Tam (broken rice) is really good. I got the pork chop rice ( yelp.com/biz_photos/nood… ) Very flavorful meat. Not dry at all. I also requested a fried egg on top. Yummy! There was only one waitress serving and taking orders. It was difficult to catch her attention for refills on our iced tea and the check but it wasn't horrible. When we did get her attention she was very nice and chatty so I liked that.

My boyfriend LOVESSSS this pho place ! He always raves about it and even tho we never come here because it's kinda far from us, this will always be his fav place :) I think it's just okay because I only order pho with vegetables in them lol so I don't taste much difference

The noodles were sweet and broth was awesome. Me and my bf loved our dishes. I got p23 which is the shrimp noodles (could have had a little more I counted 5) my bf had p13 which was the meat balls, really good meatballs. The staff was nice but didn't really check up and offer us water when we were done with our first cup. The parking area is small but we went a late time hour n half before closing. I would come back again.

Vietnamese cuisine to this day remains not fully tapped. There are a plethora of dishes that have yet to hit the surface. One of those dishes is banh canh cua; which translated literally is 'cake soup crab.' Banh canh is an udon like noodle. They are almost identical in nature. In fact, most often they share the same core ingredient--wheat. There is a variety made from tapioca starch. Noodles made from tapioca starch tend to be more translucent and chewier. Banh canh noodles come in several forms. The crab version is my favorite. What makes this version unique is the thick starchy broth. Again, this is one of those lesser known dishes so most Vietnamese noodle places do not offer it because of a lack of demand. Of the few places that offer banh canh cua, Noodle City makes a version that fits my taste. The broth is nice and thick and well flavored with crab. Typically in this dish you will find fried fish cake, sliced pork, lump crab meat, a claw (if you're lucky), bean sprouts, deep fried shallots, shrimp, and onion slices. Their second best offering is the nam neung cuon (pork spring rolls). Broken rice and pho are on par. If there was anything I stay away from, it's their bon bho hue (spicy beef noodle soup). Parking can be a challenge as they share a small parking lot with at least two other restaurants. There have been occasions where I had to sadly pick another place to dine at. Overall a good place to enjoy Vietnamese food at. Service, is as most Yelpers have commented, very good with one caveat. Take out service was not so good the three times I relied on it. I ordered their delicious pork spring rolls, gave them ample time, and had to wait ten plus minutes for them.

Okay, ... so i cringe at my own inability to pronounce or even spell out from memory the items i'm about to praise, so i'm going to just give the numbers... The Man and I go to this little hidden place probably... twice a month. It's amazingly inexpensive, never disspointing, always delicous and very nicely kept. there are only two less than stellar things I can say ... number one, what's with the TV blasting music videos all the time...this aint "da club" on a Tuesday at 5:40pm.... second, the young men do not generally ask you if you need anything, you need to tell them. both things I can easily overlook when it comes to the deliciousness of.... A6 - the charbroiled shrimp rolls. YUM YUM YUM YUMYUMYUM. Ground shrimp patty, charbroiled, and rolled with delicous thai basil, mint, zucchini, scallions, lettuce, in i believe a rice paper wrap...(moist, see through and glutenous) HANDS DOWN the BEST thing EVAH! (until you see the rest of my list) DEEEEEEEELLLLIIIIIIIISSSSSSSHHHHH omg so good ... so darn good I want them right now and it's not even 10:00am. Pho Ga - or chicken pho.... FANTASTIC... OMG again, so good, so flavorful, so YUM YUM .... this used to be my favorite ever until.... Pho with well done brisket and rare steak - can't remember the number... holy cow... meat tender, flavorful, fall off itself wonderful, broth, warming, soothing, just the thing you want to have in your belly after a long hard day, it make you.... dunno... relax... id surmise the secret ingredient is not msg, but rather, valium.... B6 or B7 - take your pick. i have no idea what it's called but it's this big BOWL of cool chopped salad mix on the bottom, not iceberg but leaf lettuce, mint, thai basil, mixed greens.... topped with vermacelli noodles (cold) and then a choice of the best dang broiled meat you've had, AND two cut up fried egg rolls. Once the weather got too hot for Pho, i switched to this cooler alternative and now that the weather is changing back, am loathe to abandon it... other than this, we've tried many many things, once or twice, never EVER being dissapointed. In all that we've eaten i don't think iv'e ever seen the bill higher than $22.00 for both me and The Man, with an entree for each, the aforementioned A6 shrimp rolls and at least two sodas each. GO GO GO GO GO GO GO. You will NOT be dissapointed.... and if you are, well, slide your plate over towards me, and at least it was a cheap dissapointment... better than say, finding out you didn't like WP24....

Despite the vast number of Vietnamese residents in this area, the best pho I've had is still in Minnesota. Go figure. I ordered the shrimp paste spring roll and I was pleasantly surprised. It tasted fresh and the sauce was delicious. The crunchy stuff that they put in is what makes this a 5 star spring roll. The combination of the fresh herbs, saltiness of the shrimp paste, nuttiness of the sauce, and the contrasting textures makes me want to come back for just that. I wouldn't come here for pho tho. Wayyy too much msg. I'm still on the lookout for great msg-less pho around here!

This is one of the best places for Vietnamese-style beef and chicken noodle soup. The soup broth is yummy, they give you a good amount of noodles and the side veggy dishes are fresh. The price is very reasonable. You can get your fill for about $10 or less, if all you're ordering is Pho' or Pho' ga.... d:o) I would also recommend their spring rolls. They are fresh, delicious and healthy, in comparision to the other fried appetizers they sell there... d:o) Bill - one of the workers is very friendly, nice and has good customer service... The reason I didn't give this place "5 Stars" is because, the bathroom is sometimes dirty. They should have separate bathrooms for each of the 2 genders (male & female). If I see a urinal in the bathroom, it makes me gag!! I try NOT to use the restroom when I eat there... :o :o :o :o :o Oh... and a few years ago, I found a small bug inside of the Pho'. It's bound to happen, because they sometimes leave the double-doors wide open to keep the air fresh and circulated in that place. The drawback is that little critters fly in.... That was only one time though and they did replace my bowl of soup FREE OF CHARGE!!

I accidentally stumble upon this place when the electricity were out in the most 626 areas. They were the only few places that was open for business. I am so glad I found this place. Good food. Great service. Love how is not one of those loud Asian place. Servers spoke English and the one that don't speak much are also super nice.

noodle city's pho is absolutely delicious. lots of lots of lots and lots of meat, noodles, and veggies! :) no stingyness here! the restaurant is also super budget friendly. anyways, so i thought this other vietnamese restaurant located in san gabriel, featured some time back on l.a weekly, had the best pho around sgv. well, i was wrong. after trying noodle city, i've come to a conclusion that so far, the pho here is the best, at least until the new "best-pho" discovery! the noodles were cooked/boiled to the perfection. not too soft, not too hard, just pleasantly '"chewy." the broth was very flavorful and most importantly, it came hot, not luke warm. meat was abundant, fresh, soft, and tender. add the veggies and an ample amount of sriracha sauce and you'll get a mouth-numbing bowl of pho. yum yum! charbroiled pork roll is utterly good as well. the pork was seasoned ideally and the savor of grilling and broiling was there. the roll had the right amount of meat and veggies, unlike other places where the roll could taste bland because the lack of meat. service is great and the place is surprisingly clean. and they have 2 tvs! woo-hoo!! ... and football season is almost here!! yay!

Apparently i messed up, though they have com tam at noodle city noodles is where it's at. Yet com tam is my favorite food at the moment and i simply couldn't help but order it. that being said it was pretty w/e the texture was kinda off, the pork chop a bit too greasy, and the shrimp cake was sorta shrimpy and by that i mean small not overflowing with shrimp. The whole plate wasn't bad, but i had hoped for so much more. on a funny note the ca phe sua da and the ca phe noodle city are the same thing despite being two diff items on the menu anyways i'm down to go back, try the pho, and write an update, so wait with baited breath till i return

Great pho & bun place. What I love about is their service! They make you feel like home. I usually share an extra-large with my bf, so they would give me a bowl of soup separately so my noodles would taste just as good. I go there pretty much once or twice a week. Price is cheap.

Good stuff. I played it safe and tried the chicken noodle soup (pho ga). I'll be back, and will try something else next time. Their Thai iced tea is also bomb.

I love this place. I come here literally once a week. I seriously got to stop because they're starting to recognize me! But I can't because it's so damn good! One of the best places for Vietnamese food in SGV. The prices are extremely affordable and the food is always super yummy! I dined there again only yesterday and ordered the pho special with everything in it. Let me just say that I could not clear my bowl. They gave me sooooo much food that I had to pull up the white flag. How can they give me so much?!? Let me tell you something, I can put food away on top of that I haven't eaten all day because I had classes from 9 am to 6 pm straight. You can only imagine how hungry I was. But dang I had so much meat and noodles in my bowl, I was literally floored when I saw it. The people are always really attentive and polite. I definitely recommend this place to EVERYONE. Parking is a little troublesome because the lot is really small but besides that I have no other complaints. Oh yeah! Try their dessert drinks (the three color drink? Hah I don't know what it's called in English) it's so good!

  • Lovey O.

The food is not as good as any Vietnamese place I've ever been to. Service was good from one of the two servers (the other one avoided eye contact and when we did get his attention, he sent over the other server). I had the charbroiled pork chop with egg meat loaf and broken rice. I split egg rolls with the friend. Vietnamese iced coffee wasn't the best, either. One word to sum it up: blah. Go to Viet Huong, Golden Deli, or even Noodle World. Come on Noodle City, this is Asia town, gotta bring the game! There's parking, but all of the spots were full. I parked on the street right outside the square. It wasn't too difficult.

Just got back from eating from here and it was ok. Service is alright, my brother's friend had to go up there 3 times to get veggies, a spoon, and a cleaner spoon (there was like a noodle stuck on the one I got and didn't notice). I ordered the regular (it's actually the small though) pho tai. It was really small, I was like where are all my noodles? They gave me a lot of beef, but It didn't get me full. I wasn't even half full to be honest, and my meal was $5.00 or so, yeah that's cheap, but when you consider how much you can get for $5 at another pho spot you really start thinking about it. My brother also got a pho tai, but a large one. His large was like two of my small, so that's actually a deal because it's like $1.50 more or something. My brother said it was nasty though. My brother also ordered a viet coffee drink, but said it was too strong and didn't drink it. I tried a sip and WOW it was STRONG. I took a small sip and felt the impact. If you like strong viet coffee this is a place to try it at, but if don't get it otherwise. I think I'm getting more used to places with better than average service for asian places, so our waiter was lousy in my opinion. I usually say thank you and stuff, but some people I just can't do it because they give off that aura where they don't deserve that thank you. It's an alright spot, but I would rather go down on valley to Saigon Flavor.

I LOVE Noodle City. In a sea of Asian restaurants, it sets itself apart with subtle features: everything on the menu is consistently good (if not great), service is courteous, their take-out packaging is top-notch, and they take credit/debit card with no minimum, unlike 99% of the rest of the Asian restaurants in Monterey Park. Make no mistake, this is basically a Pho/Vietnamese restaurant with a more expanded menu. Their pho, bun, banh canh, and rice dishes are all good. Even when ordered to-go, the dishes are still good because the cooks use a variety of packaging to make sure that the noodles/rice are contained properly and are separated from the meat, broth, and veggies. No more take-out pho noodles shaped in the form of a square to-go box for me! Service is very considerate and attentive. The decor of the restaurant is also pleasant, they have a nice HDTV usually showing football/basketball games, and the restaurant itself has a very clean feeling. Parking is hit or miss because the plaza is pretty packed, but you can park on the street. Food - 4.5/5 Service - 4/5 Value - 5/5 Ambiance - 4/5 Takes Credit Cards with no minimum - 5/5

Nice more modern looking vietnamese restaurant in the san gabriel valley area. You have a choice of quite a few vietnamese restaurants in the area but why you would come here is for the variety of vietnamese cuisine. Prices were okay and portion sizes were good. There is a lack of parking so you might have to park on the street.

I had the chicken pho with bamboo shoots...it was a little on the salty side. My wife had the bun cha and lacked bean sprouts and nuts like other places we've been. The portions were larger and so were the prices. I think the abundance of salt turned me off. The decor was nice and service was good. I may give a second try since it's so close but I've had better.

I come here all the time because it's one of the few decent Vietnamese restaurants opened past 9PM. They also have several TV's in the restaurant so the sports are always on; I came here on game day once and it was packed. I usually dine in, but I've recently developed a habit of ordering to go. The food here is yummy, specifically the pho tai. The spring rolls here are good too and the three color ice is worth it if you have room for dessert. The last time I was here, it was a wet and rainy night around 9PM. My brother and I ordered our food and decided to dine in. A couple minutes later, a homeless man whom I suspected is schizophrenic walks in and sits next to us and makes a commotion; apparently he's been there before -- he dines and dashes. The staff were very understanding of him and I found that to be very compassionate as the manager offered him some food although he was not and cannot be a paying customer.

I'm stuck between giving this a 3 star rating and a 4 star rating. I don't remember the last time I've been here, but I do remember enjoying their pho. This time I opted for the Beef Stew Pho ($6.15). Nicely done soup I must say, and very flavorful! Think of this one as Chinese/Taiwanese beef noodle soup with pho noodles. The only downsides were that the soup temperature was so hot that the noodles were overcooked and the bowl was smaller than expected. Each time I tried to wrangle some up from the bowl into my spoon, the noodles broke apart. I prefer my pho noodles to be slightly undercook because they eventually get soggy as you're eating. Plus makes it easier to handle and requiring little effort to fish them out. This place is small, but it is clean, has two flat screens with the games on, and the service is attentive. My friends (and I must agree) although we don't have the best pho palettes, this has to be one of the better pho noodle spots in the San Gabriel Valley. We could be outright wrong.

This is actually 3.5 stars. I LOVE the Pho Filet here, where you get better cuts of beef in a small side bowl of soup. I like that they have the Laker game here on all the time and it's a great fallback when Saigon Flavor is closed. Downsides? The broth is super oily and you get insane MSG induced dry mouth afterwards - then again all pho causes this. Solution? Just don't down all of the broth and you'll be good. #P1 (pho dac biet) is loaded with meat and I actually have a hard time finishing it. I love that it's open later than my usual spot (Saigon Flavor) and I can always count on consistency here.

Beef Balls + Egg Noodles - Legit Wait - No Wait to sit down Food Wait Time - QUICK. People there just want to get in and get out, a perfect place to eat if you're in a hurry. Parking - If there's nobody there, you'll have to dig deep and head deep into the asian hood and find street parking next to all the mercedes, lexus's, and fixed up rice rockets. Noise Level - You know how asians are, you can hear them from a mile away, same with me too, they can hear me from a mile away. Resemblance - This place is essentially a less MSG version of Kim Ky in San Gabriel. Though the menu selection isn't as large, the food is very similar. These are the only two places you can get quality fat noodles and vietnamese style dishes for serious value. Great place for the morning after. Expect to drop $15 for two people and feel satisfied.

I actually enjoyed the Pho beef noodle soup here. Coming from a person who loves Pho, u should really try this place. I was in SoCal for my spring break and I wanted Pho! So I used yelp and it brought me here.. I felt like they gave alot of noodles. When your bowl comes, its so full! The tripe was good! They gaave u big chunks.of tripe and i loved it! They give us disposable chop sticks! Good! Haha The food came by real fast! Cash or debit. Parking is a pain because this Pho restaurant is located in a lil small plaza! But yummmmy! Must try. Spring rolls wasn't too good. :( was upset but I think that its because im from the bay area, its made differently .... but phoreal, try this pho! Okay, I got a large bowl, and it wasn't so large, but I was so full after eating th noodle. And at that time, I was starving! Haha try this place phoreal! Its really good!

My friends and I came here after yelping for a pho place near Half and Half in Monterey Park. The place was completely empty when we arrived on a wednesday night around 6:30, so we were a little taken aback (especially when it had good reviews on yelp)...but considering, it was a wednesday afterall... All of us ordered pho. My three friends all got the rare steak pho, and I ordered pho with well-done steak, brisket, tendon, and tripe. It's not the best I've had, but it was still pretty good. A bit more oily than most pho I've had, and definitely had lots of MSG...which I don't mind, so it was all good. I also ordered some shrimp spring rolls, which I do at every pho restaurant. The actual rolls don't vary much between different places, but it's the peanut sauce that's what makes it or breaks it. The sauce here was on the lower end of what I've had before, but it wasn't terrible. Service was good. We were having a good laugh, and the waiter guy was a good sport about it. One of my friends noted how the music seemed to be coming off from his itunes, lol. Taylor Swift and Ke$ha...not exactly pho music, but it was entertaining hahaha. We got the food very quickly, but then again we were the only ones there at first...people started trickling in afterwards. Overall, not bad. It wasn't incredibly amazing, but I had a good eat :)

The house special was delicious. Great coconut jelly for dessert as well. Service was just okay, but the food and value makes up for that.

I've never hated Pho, especially after a night of drinking too much, but I actually was appalled by the quality of this place's Pho... The soup was lukewarm!! I couldn't even finish the Pho because I felt like my raw meat wasn't cooked through. It was the first time I had to worry about such thing when eating a Pho. I had a taste of the soup, but it lacked in depth and tasted bland. Maybe because it was lukewarm. We have so many other good Pho places around, so I probably won't try this place again.

This place is da shiz dam skadibble. Been coming here every week, sometimes twice a week. Their bun bao is topped with chunky bites of shrimp which makes it all the better than other Vietnamese Restaurants. Soda Chanh comes with LOTs of fresh squeezed lime juice, makes me salivate just thinking of it. As for their pho, loads of meat and flavor up in there. Same goes to their bun bo hue too, must have put an entire porks hock in there. Service is so nice, tables are clean and new. They have a few big screens usually playing the game or sports center. Best part is, it's in Monterey Park. Cheers!

I luv the hot beef broth as the soup. The fillet mignon slices in the PHO is very delicious. I would recommend this place to my friends.

I wish I were back in California now. The sun does good for your health. Anyways, I had breakfast at 4:30 AM EST. Our flight touched down into LA at 12:30 PST. Needing food, we went to a place which I didn't hold much expectations for, since all I wanted was something to calm my stomach. Located in the Monterey Park area, Noodle City is about a block away from the Garvey Inn (which I also reviewed). The restaurant is part of a small strip mall and facing E. Garvey Avenue. Enter Noodle City. It's a medium sized restaurant with a small waiting area and tables for eating. A television is on the wall near the smoothie bar that was showing ESPN. Also the view is open of the street with all glass window panes (no blocking walls). Cleanliness was a problem here in that there were a lot of tables that needed to be bussed. Paper napkins on the floor and an open wall where a urinal used to be in the bathroom didn't help the decor too much. That being said, the Pho dish I ordered was very filling. That soup was pretty big for $6.50. Yeah, I don't have much more to say here except it's priced alright and pretty good food. If you're a stickler about appearances, this place isn't for you. Otherwise, come here for a quick dish and uncensored iPod music.

I wanted something savory but light after scarfing down some desserts. I wanted to cleanse the sugar right out of my mouth. Noodle City was our next stop. The pho hit the spot and did too good of a job getting that taste out. It was almost overwhelming with the amount of soup, meat, broth, etc. It was plenty for one person. I also really liked the decorations and the staff was really nice and even apologetic for a mistake, even after a customer apologized herself. Wow, who knew that would happen in an Asian restaurant. The broth was really good. Not unique but just different from the usual pho broth. Quite flavorful. Definitely a great place to eat AND watch some tv. Every guy had their eyes glued to the flat screen tv. :)

My friend introduced me to this place since he's been going for a very long time and knows the manager. I would say that this place is one of the top pho places within the area. The taste is very good, not bland like some places. The amount they give you for the price is pretty darn good. Some places i've been to have jew out the noodles or meat, but this place gives your money's worth. The manager is also very friendly. I would say to give this place a try there's nothing to lose.

There is a curse with Noodle City. It's the parking. The old Noodle city on Valley had bad parking. There were only like 6 spots in the back and it was pretty much impossible to get in and out with a larger car. At times there would be a security guard/guy there to shoo us away like loitering teenagers of we parked in the spots designated for the other business. You can park on Valley but it's a crap shoot if you'll get hit from behind by a motorist who isn't paying attention and texting their BFF about their party plans or how hot the Jonas Brothers are. I've seen old Asian women try to parallel park in front of the old restaurant and after three failed attempts she left. Nice. So the parking isn't that much better at this location either. There are a lot of surrounding businesses that fight for the same resource. I guess that's what you get for living in a high density area with less than proficient drivers. The pho here isn't that bad. It's not great either, but the service is always polite which is difficult to find around these parts. yelp.com/biz_photos/HOCy… Noodle City's Score - 85+ Points

Over 200 reviews dont mean its good. Just bought togo for dinner on friday for easy dinner but so disappointed. Rice not fresh its like not even well cook. Beef are so little portion. Why they dont charge more to give quality food. Just dont know why asian restaurant are so such around monterey park area.

Came here randomly for some noodles, but found out it was actually a Vietnamese place. They were pretty packed, so I assumed they had pretty good food. I would not say it is the best Vietnamese food that I've had, but they do have some pretty good choices. We ordered thee shrimp appetizer (forgot the exact name), beef vermicelli without soup, and a few others. They were all pretty decent. Especially the meat. The Thai tea was perfect. Not too sweet but not too strong either. Plenty of parking. I would come back again.

This place was great! My friend and I were looking for a pho place to eat and we ended up at this place. The menu had lots of options, more than we could understand. We ordered well done flank and shrimp. Our order came out super quick which was nice since we were hungry! The taste was pretty good and the price was great! We paid about $15 between both of us! The only thing was they brought the check until we asked them for it, but it was nice to linger around for a bit!

I seriously love everything at this restaurant. The Pho is super flavorful, and the rice dishes are portioned just right. Ive been to several Vietnamese restaurants and this one by far has the best customer service. I never have to ask for a refill or to bring the bill, they were very attentive. The only downfall Ive come across is when i ordered a sandwich the bread was stale. I must say without hesitation they offered to bring us another, sadly we were full already so they simply took it off our bill. If you have a craving for Vietnamese i must say try this place out!

  • Terence N.

My favorite Pho in the area, the soup base is good with a little msg, and there are plenty of noodles and beef when you get the #1. The dry vermicelli comes in a large bowl, plenty of noodle and meat to fill you up. The egg rolls here are very good, better than most places. I always order an ice coffee, but I don't really like their ice coffee because it's too bitter for my liking (I prefer Lee's). Seating is roomy here, and there are plenty of TVs around the walls to watch whatever sports game you're interested in. Overall, good Pho, great prices, good service!

Noodle City is one of the best Pho places I've eaten at! I usually get the combo pho and they give a good amount of noodles and ingredients unlike other pho places.-- this one fills you up! For the portion amounts this place gives you, the price is just right. This place is kinda small though but my friends and I go in the afternoon so we usually get seated right away. Its not hard to get the staffs attention, they are attentive of their customers. The food comes out shortly after ordering and they are thoughtful of their customers, if we don't order any drinks, they bring us ice water. The place is kept clean and they don't refill their sauces while you're eating(some places do that, which i find so rude) unless you ask them to which I doubt you have to because I never had to. In my opinion, this place tops Golden Deli but don't take my word for it haha go try it!

Not the best, but it is conveniently located when I stay in Monterey Park. I went here with Jackie W. when I was physically unable to eat much, but it was still pretty good. Jackie W. got Tai Nam Gan pho (pho with flank, brisket, and tendon) and I got Nem Nuong Cuon (some sort of pork spring roll) and soda chanh (carbonated water, lime juice, and usually a lot of sugar). The pho was good, though the soup tasted particularly beef broth-y. Like, it tasted like beef broth you could have gotten from a can. At least in my opinion. The Nem Nuong Cuon was great, and I love their peanut sauce. I think I do wish they had a bit more fried noodle paper in there, but otherwise, it's great. The Soda Chanh was not exactly the best. They gave me a cup with ice and lime juice, and a can of club soda. I'm not sure if there was any sugar in the cup, but if there was there wasn't much. I don't mind mixing it on my own, though I'm used to getting it ready made, but it was not up to par due to lack of sugar. The service was pretty good though considering they were about to close.

If you're craving Vietnamese food, this place is decent. Pho has good flavor, vermicelli dishes are good sized and tasty. I've also had the broken rice with charbroiled pork and that's been satisfying as well. The price for each dish averages $6.50 and customer service is good. Everyone is nice and smiles, unlike some other places I've been to. The inside of restaurant is comfortable and appears to be clean. I'd recommend this place if you're in the area looking for a quick and fresh Vietnamese meal. It's also really good for take-out too! They pack things up nicely and the soup never spills! :)

This is the only Pho place in the whole San Gabriel area truly deserves a 5 Star rating when it comes to both the food quality and customer service. I get the bun bo hue (spicy beef noodles) whenever I visit this place. It's good and quality is always consistent. The flavor of their beef pho broth is on the lighter side. But, I like it as well. Speaking of services, I just appreciate both the girl and the guy server, they are awsome! It's rare in any Asian restaurant if you know what I mean! I will visit this place again and again and again.....

This is the go to spot for Pho. The restaurant is nice and clean inside and most importantly the broth is always clear. Parking can be bad and tight sometimes. Service is good and the Pho is always consistent.

This is definitely my favorite Pho restaurant. Again it is not the best thing I ever ate, but it is the best Pho one can find. I've been to many Vietnamese Restaurants from Los Angeles to Westminster to Las Vegas, and Noodle City beats them all. This was already my favorite when they were located on Valley (not too long ago) and nothings changed since they moved. Prices are reasonable approx $5 for their largest bowl. Please do not waste your money and go to other places in the area like Pho Pasteur, if you go there, you will get a large bowl of soup (that is just ok IMO) and a stingy portion of noodles and meat. I do not recommend the rice and dry noodle dishes here. Other places can bebetter. I do recommend the egg rolls.

Did you know there was one of these places in Monterey Park and another in Alhambra? I learned the hard way as I was meeting up family at the Monterey Park location and ended up in Alhambra. Wtf I just got off the phone with my cousins and I could hear them ordering, I am looking all over for them, but do not see them. Am I at the right place? Noodle World, Noodle City, why so much Noodle business names!! Did he mean Noodle World? We realized we were at the wrong Noodle City so we head to the correct one which had very crappy parking. Seriously now, it reminded me of K-town parking. I walk in pretty pissed off due to the complications I experienced just to get here. I look around, setup and decor is not bad here, its decent, definitely looks better than some of the other Pho places around the area. I order a P-19 Pho with meatballs, regular sized bowl. People would probably question if I was on a diet, I could not remember ever having a regular sized bowl of pho, but the fact that I was going to have kbbq the same day, I had to starve myself a little. The regular bowl was enough to satisfy my appetite. There was a abundant amount for a regular bowl, I wonder how much they would give me with a big bowl. Prices are also cheaper than what I can remember from other Pho places. The cousin who has a acquired tongue for Pho, the broth, noodles, etc says this place is good. I'll take his word for it, you should probably too. The service was good, but they did get us a wrong order of spring rolls. One of the Hispanic bus boys brought us a pitcher of ice tea? We all had confused looks on our faces. Is this free? He just smiles at all of us and walks away?! He did not understand anything we said as the manager comes up to us and ask us what happened. We pointed at the pitcher, he tells him no, takes the pitcher of ice tea away, and brings us a pitcher of water. That was weird, I should have poured me a glass when I had the chance.

I always order way too much and just moments ago I had the rare beef pho, filet mignon and rice, egg rolls, and pork chops and rice. Everyone else ordered Pho. Sounds like a lot right? Funny thing is I wanted to drive thru Pepe's for some mexican but I got vetoed and everyone was moaning how full they were (what a bunch of sissies). The food was awesome and was perfectly seasoned and delicious as always! This is my favorite Pho restaurant and it used to be in Alhambra but they moved the restaurant to Monterey Park. The Alhambra location has a different business name (New Noodle City) and it's definitely not as good as this place. If you look at the aggregate Yelp star ratings you will see that this restaurant (the original in MP) is rated higher. It also has an 'A' health dept rating compared to the other locations 'B' rating. When the original location was closed down on Valley I was sort of lost and eating at various Pho restaurants in the area. I was like a lost puppy wandering the streets for months and today I have finally found my home again! I am really happy right now wagging my tail.

If you desire a quick fix for noodles, this place will serve your purpose. However, if you want good pho and other variety of noodles, this place is not for you. The broth was bland. My wife got some kind of rice dish and she thought it was fine, but nothing to rave about. I would come here again for a quick noodle fix but I will drive to other places when I really want good pho.

I have been eating lots of pho the last few weeks and out of the 20 plus pho establishments from East LA to South Orange County I like the pho here the best. I keep promising myself to try other items on the menu, but I like the pho here so much, I have yet to eat anything else. If and when I do, I'll update this review, but until then, a 5 star pho joint with a 1 star rating for the cleanliness of the restroom.

  • Nic H.

If you want Pho, this is the best there is. I know Pho doesn't seem that hard to make, but for some reason this place taste better than other locations. I'm guessing they use higher quality noodles. Before I went to this place, I use to go to the one in Alhambra call The new Noodle City. That place is good also, but farther from my house.

I've been coming to this restaurant since it open and as far as I know its the best place to get Pho or any other Vietnamese entree. It's fast and has friendly service all the time and have a variety of drinks available. The atmosphere of the restaurant is simple, yet, cozy and comfortable. The reason I gave it a 4 star rating its because of the low availability of parking spaces especialy on the weekend. Overall its a great place to go especially with the family.

  • Mujerista O.

I haven't found anything that tops this place for the atmosphere, taste and price. We've been coming here for a couple of years and I wish they would open up another restaurant closer to us - I would be there several nights a week, I know that for sure! The bowls of pho are generous and the taste is just right - not too salty like other places I've tried. I like to occasionally try new places to see if I can find one that beats Noodle City, but I keep coming back for more because they never disappoint. It's gotten to the point where the staff recognizes us when we come in and we have our special corner we always sit in. Who could ask for more? Also, it doesn't hurt that they have two full screen TVs and always have a game on.

Great Pho .... we ordered the filet, and the beef without the tripe. Great broth, too many noodles we thought. The large was too large, the reg too small. But it's so cheap .... We were fasty fasty and split ... at least my girl had something for lunch today!

  • Kevin T.

When I first got there, this place looked pretty upscale and really clean compared to some other surrounding asian restaurants... I was afraid it would also be rather expensive. But I was pleasantly surprised to see really cheap prices! $6 for a big bowl of pho with tons of meat and tasty broth. Their che ba mau was 2.50, wasn't bad, though I think they kind of stiffed me on condensed milk... towards the end, it tasted noticeably like only red beans and ice instead of a super yummy dessert. There are 2 big plasma screens on the walls, so we got to watch basketball and football while eating. I'd definitely add this to my extensive list of good places to get vietnamese food.

I came here yesterday for dinner, I have never been here I have always went to Pho Filet, I gave this place a tried because my brother always rave about this place. I got the pho special number 1, I wished it had meatballs too since it is the special. We also got banh beo, it was more on the thick side I like mine really thin, 8 pieces for $5. Lastly we order the springroll, I was ok. Overall its a-ok...the soup was not too strong which I like, and you do not taste MSG, I will be back on Tues. if I ever want pho..because pho filet is closed on Tues.

    (3)
  • Lilly N.

My boyfriend has always loved to come here to eat their Pho... But to me their pho isn't that flavorful... the spring rolls are alright but I guess it depends on the person who makes it because some days there's not much stuff inside it and some day it's all thick and small.. the owner or manger is a sweet heart but today I didn't recognize any of them I wonder if they changed owners or anything maybe thats why their Pho taste different today and the spring rolls.

I live in downtown LA - so instead of going to my usual pho location in silver lake, i thought i'd try out noodle city. considering there was no traffic on the 10, it was not far to trade in the sgv for silver lake. it was a great call. the goi cuon was very fresh. the pho (both of us who went got tai, or rare beef) was great - tasty broth, fresh ingredients, good quality meat. it i was going to bump them a star, it would be because the tv was on a bit too loud for my taste - however, the super bowl was on, so i'll cut them a break for now.

I go to Noodle City at least 3 times a week. Its great for a quick meal or to hang out and watch a ball game. They have two flat screen TVs, sometimes they turn on the surround sound for the big games. This is the cleanest Vietnamese restaurant you will ever find, period. They have an extensive menu of traditional Vietnamese dishes and some fusion items not found anywhere else. If you are not in the mood to experiment, order the Pho Fillet. Its basically a bowl of Pho with onions, herbs and all that good stuff with an additional bowl of Filet Mignon swimming in their Pho broth. I get the Filet Mignon slices medium rare. Awesome!

Noodle city, what can I say? When they first had their grand opening, it was GREAT! Now after a year that I have came back to dine at this restaurant with my friend, it was HORRIBLE! What happened? First off, service was okay. I ordered com thit bo sao cu hanh (a type of stir fried beef rice plate). Usually this doesn't take an Einstein to make and no longer than 10 minutes max considering there were only 4 other tables seated. My friend ordered Pho and it came out within 5 minutes. As we are sitting there chit chatting I realized she was almost done with her food. So where's mine? The other two tables that came in after us was already enjoying their course for the evening. I asked the waitress and by the look on her face, they forgot. Really? When my plate came out I had a chunk of rice, a bunch of onions and about 5-7 pieces of thin sliced meat. REALLY!? So once again I kindly asked the waitress why there were so little meat and she went to "consult" the other waiter and within less than 2 minutes, I get a full plate of meat. Okay, so it took about half an hour to make my plate and only TWO minutes to bring me a plate of meat. What really ticked me off throughout this whole situation? They couldn't admit that they forgot my order and when I complained about the quantity of meat, they huddle together and start talking smack. I am fluent in Vietnamese and English, so yes, I heard them. NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I BE COMING HERE ANYMORE.

This place was great. You can get some pretty delish pho (they're not cheap with the meat) and a good appetizer for just about ten buckaroos. The bathroom was super clean, which I loved, and I never waited to have someone fill my water glass. All in all, a pretty good deal. Students, pay special attention. It's a good place to meet with your buds and study hard.

I could have sworn I already reviewed this place but I guess not. Like Dennis below, I also know that this place use to be located on Valley Blvd. The current one on Valley Blvd. is NOT the original Noodle City and it's currently owned by someone else. I love the food here. The service is always excellent. The owner is really kind to me and my bf whenever we eat here. They are very loyal to their customers. The place is very clean. The prices are very reasonable. Parking can be full at times, but I really can't say enough about this place. I always leave happy and full.

This pho here is a plus for me. The broth and meat are just right to taste. My wife orders the dry vermicelli and is a fan of that as she's not into Pho. The quality of food is here is the same as the noodle city on Valley Blvd. The egg roll is a favorite too. The price is very reasonable.

We came here for a late night dinner. The place was pretty lively at around 9:15pm. It was just a typical pho place. Then, cool guy (our waiter) came in to take our order. We ordered, but he didn't take a note. Huh. I guess he thinks he can memorize stuff well... We ordered 4 bowls of pho and A17 (the little shrimps dishes) for appetizer. When our orders came, heh screwed up! Hah, I knew it. He brought my husband a different soup. Being a nice guy that he is, he just ate. If it was me, I'd ask for the correct item. The noodle and the broth was good. It's good pho. The beef balls here were not my favorite. The tendons were overcooked and mushy. But, it's not a deal breaker. It just distract from the whole dining experience. My brother also ordered the ice coffee, and he said it's pretty good too. Overall, it's a good pho place. After we finished our pho, we realized that cool guy (who can awesomely remembers all the orders without taking notes) forgot to put in our appetizer order. Well... I guess it's a convenient mistake because we're full anyways. Overall... it's an Okay place to go eat at. Just gotta make sure your waiter takes your order right when you come here.

This place is awesome. For weeks my friend CJ and I were looking for this place because his mom was never clear on where the exact location is. But one lucky day, we called her while in the area and she actually picked up. We were stuck on the sidewalk between both plaza's and his mom finally said, "It on da plaza on right, oh da way in co-nuh, Pho very goooood, you have try it." so we did. I ordered the charbroiled pork with the weird cut rice. That with some spring rolls and i was mm mmm mmm in heaven. The meat was so tender and yummy, and the presentation was welcoming and colorful. There greens, and orange, and it just made the food jump up into the mouth. i havent felt that great about Viet food in a loooong time. Thank you Noodle City..... Thank you

Friend asked me to meet him up here today since he lives nearby. Honestly, just another pho place to me. Nothing fancy, nothing great. I think it's hard to f up pho. Then again, I'm not Vietnamese so what do I know about making pho? I always rate my pho by the base of the soup, the portions, the amount of meat and noodles, and the price. This time I ordered a chicken lime chili plate or some sort. Not bad. Like many Asian places, in about an hour or so after you leave the place, you throat is very dry and you have a sudden urge for water. MSG alert? I'm not tripping. Hell, I eat at so many Asian places that I outta be use to it by now. Anyway, this joint was okay.

The breakdown: Pho Noodles: 4.5/5 Meat: 4.5/5 Soup Base: 4.5/5 Rice Dishes: 4/5 My Food Rating = A- Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Clean: 4.5/5 My Experience Rating: A Location: 5/5 Parking: 5/5 Wait: 5/5 Payment (Accepts Visa/MC): 5/5 My Convenience Rating: A Pros: - Soup broth is tasty. - Great price! - Ample parking spaces. - Clean and brightly lit; nice decor and ambience. - Flat screen TV; owner is a Laker fan. - Efficient service and a great attitude; friendly owner. - When you order take out, they put the pho in a microwavable bowl. - No minimum charge for credit card. Cons: - I remember when Noodle City first opened, the meat quality was superb. Not sure when, but they've downgraded a notch. It's still good, but just not as good as the meat quality at Pho Cafe in Silverlake. Tip: Ask for sliced raw onion on the side. Bottom Line: Convenient, tasty, affordable and great service. This is currently my favorite pho destination in the Monterey Park / San Gabriel area. It's a good place for lunch or for dinner.

Ordered #16, pho bo i believed.. Order came within five minutes and service was fast and friendly. Pho here is the best around the SGV and i just came back from noodle city! haha. what hit me a bit was that there wasnt that much pho on my plate than the last time i went, but the quality of the pho is spectacular so they keep their 5/5 rating.

It's pho, how can you really go wrong? I've only been here once and my friend told me that it's better than Pasteur. This place does it better than most places (but Pho Pasteur is still the BEST!) Their service is better than most pho restaurants and their plum soda comes with the club soda seperately in a can, which is pretty cool i guess. The only thing that bothers me is that all the waiters wear whatever..seriously. I guess it's like that at most places (Pho 79 for example) but their waiters don't even have an apron so its confusing to know who works there and whatnot. I'd definitely go back. 4 stars! -1 for the lack of alcohol..my mom was sad that she didn't get her Heineken..haha OH!! and they take CARD! The first pho place to accept card..

Service was a little slow, even though we were there at 7:00 pm, no one else was in the restaurant besides my family. I guess the workers decided that this would be a good time to move all of the tables and chairs to the other side of the restaurant to sweep and mop the place. As far as the food, I had the Com Bi and my wife had the Bun Cha Goi Thit Nuong. The rice from my dish was good, but the meat was fatty and charred. My wife's plate was okay, the noodles were good, but put too many sprouts. Another thing, I've never been to a Vietnamese restaurant that bumped Soulja Boy (well I've never been ANY restaurant that did this!) loud!!

Bok Gwai Approved. How can the prices by this low? I've not tried Com Tam before and I'm glad I did. I liked the white rice noodle this in the little bowls too. Forget the name but you get like 9 of them! The wife had the beef stew and it was something amazing! A must try place!

We love, love, love this place - best pho we've had so far! We're not experts by any means, but we know what we like, and I like the rare beef pho, while my husband always gets the seafood option. They've got two large screen t.v.'s with some game or the other on (big plus for the hubby) and we are never disappointed. We also always get the shrimp spring rolls which they serve with peanut sauce and coconut water. Can't beat the prices, either, and they are very friendly!

I think the beef pho noodle soup is excellent! The restaurant is clean and the staff very efficient. I would definitely come back each time I visit my in-laws .... and from what I gather from sister inlaw, everything else on the menu is fairly good too.

Noodle City in MPK? I almost shed a tear. Just as good as the one on Valley. Not sure if that one closed down or if its under construction. Super clean, super service, super phooooooo. It may be hard trying to get into the plaza. Driving east on Garvey would be the easiest way to enter. Noodle City Pho Lyfe.

Food just OK. Staff often unfriendly, especially the cashiers. Nothing really stands out. I stopped going because the food is mediocre and I had a couple of bad experiences with cranky owner or manager of the place.

The pho is not that tasty I've had better. But the rice plates are delicious. Also the banh beo makes a great appetizer.

My rating still stays the same, but today was really bad. I'm a regular here. I come at least three times a week to satisfy my pho cravings. Today was one of those days. I guess today was one of their down days because everything went wrong. -When I walked in, there was only ONE server. Regardless, when you see customers walk in, its suppose to be a given to greet them and seat them. That one server was cleaning a table. He looked at us and just resumed cleaning without saying a word. But okay, whatever. - The new guys that they hire are pretty incompetent. The orders were served to the wrong table. When ask for extra sides, they took forever to get it. The service was gradual.... - In the plate where they have the vegetables and lime complementary to your pho; the lime was USED. I picked it up and I was like "why the hell is this lime so flimsy". Turned it around and holy crap.......they gave me a used lime. - The broth was really really salty for the Pho Dac Biet. The meat was sparse and looked old. The broth for the Bun Bo Hue was really bland and the noodles were cut up so small similar to the size of macaronis. It was painful watching my brother eat it. Still one bad experience won't deter me from coming back nor my love for this restaurant. I just hope this doesn't persist, otherwise customers are going to start dropping left and right.

walking in, it was PACKED. we had 6 people but there weren't any tables open. there were booths for 4 & 2 but separated by an aisle. we were starving. the smell of the pho, egg rolls, fried rice & other vietnamese dishes was torture for us. we could either take the two tables separated by an aisle or wait another 15-30 minutes for a bigger table. our stomachs were the judges so we opted for the two booth tables. we were small so the 6 of us decided to squeeze into a 4 booth table. it worked uncomfortably for awhile. then one of the waiters noticed that we were trying to stay together & grabbed an extra chair for us. everyone ordered either P1, "the special combo with rare slices of steak, well-done brisket, flank, tendon & tripe" or P22, "the chicken rice noodle" & a plate of egg rolls. everyone at our table loved what they ordered. the portions were huge. each bowl came with a huge serving of noodles!! but everyone ended up finishing most of their noodles because it was just too good! the soup was perfect, not too salty, strong or bland. i ended up drinking my bowl of pho to the last drop. the customer service was good. they weren't talkative and hardly smiled. but it was probably because they were all so busy. they were efficient and helpful. the person at the cashier offered to split our bill for us so we wouldn't have to go through the trouble of paying with cash & credit cards. i think it'd be a good investment to expand their restaurant so there's more tables, customers & space for everyone.

I recently moved near Noodle City when a friend told me about it. I've been here twice and both times, the food was really good. The prices were very affordable. The service was decent. I also have to mention that I like the decor and their nice flat screen TVs! Really don't know what else to say. $15 for a crab noodle soup + banh beo + tip. Not bad.

I love this place. The broth is always steamy hot and the quantity is large. The restaurant has 2 TVs that usually has ESPN on so all you sports fans can have pho and sports at the same time.

My favorite Pho place, their soup, noodles and meat are all very good. I love that they give you huge pieces of tripe and tendon...so delicious. The service is good, and the place is very clean and there's two huge ass TV's here, so it's not a bad place for a date considering that me and my girlfriend's first date was here and I love her :)

Lunch here is cleaner than other pho places and the food is average. Ordered a broken rice dish, but the porkchop tasted sour... maybe it was bad. Portions were average. The pho was okay also. Not the best...not the worst. Will try again. Parking is hard on weekends. Friendly service, but the drinks took a long time. This place is open from the original owner of Noodle City on Valley Blvd. in Alhambra. Come give it a try.

Da broth, da broth, da broth! After finishing a bowl you'll want to say "Broth Me!" Used to frequent Pho Pasteur in Rosemead, it was the missus and I's go too spot, tried a few other places for change and everything was meh. So during one of our cravings to try a new place she found Noodle City (Insert enlightenment tune here.) After having it a second time last night we declared this to be our official new Pho home. Portions are large, with plenty of meat! Egg rolls are delicious and service is what you'd expect from any Asian restaurant. You've been warned future yelper, don't come back writing how the service was lackluster, in the SGV Asian cuisine scene your just another customer, don't get all gwailo thinking your always right and are a diva, get over yourself, just shut up and eat!

my folks & i always rubberneck this place on our way to eat at kam hong, & one night we finally decided to skip chinese beef noodle soup for... vietnamese beef noodle soup :) noodle city has 'recession special' written all over it - the tab for us 4 adults, one dish per person, came to just $25! it's not obvious on the menu, but the pho comes in small & large bowls - me mum ordered a small pho tai with meat balls & she couldn't finish it. being a flexible (i.e., half-assed) vegetarian, i had to have a taste & was surprised at how al dente the noodles were. the broth was nice & hot, & not overwhelmingly beefy. i had the bun with shrimp paste - the noodles-to-veggies ratio was just right, but the shrimp paste was a little overcooked. still, a very refreshing dish. as other reviewers have mentioned, the place is clean & a bit more hip than your typical SGV pho joint, with shiny furniture & even shinier flat-screen TVs on the walls. they take credit card, which is nice. honorable mention goes to the smiley teenager serving our table that night, rockin' the dragonball hair & black t-shirt+black pants combo. we had to keep asking for him to refill our teas & waters, but something about him was so adorably awkward, i can't hold it against him. parking can be better - pair a small parking lot with those nutty san gabriel drivers, & you have yourself a recipe for disaster!

One of the better Pho locations in SGV. Better than Pho79 for sure. Broth is very good and flavorful. Price is cheap and food is served quick.

This place gives A LOT of meat! Sometimes I can't even finish it. I think this is the best Pho place in San Gabriel Valley! However, sometimes their soup is not as hot as I would like it. After I put all my meat in there....my bean sprouts remain uncooked. OoO, and there was this one time my friends and I ordered meat balls on the side of our pho after we got our pho's, and they charged 2$ for two meatballs that was cut in twos. So our pho ended up to be 7$+, which I thought was kinda pricey. Other than that....this place is pretty good! Haven't tried anything else from here cause I'm such a Pho lover!

Best authentic Vietnamese food in the Monterey Park area. We stopped by after making the rounds at the temples nearby during the Chinese New Year's weekend and was treated to a lion dance show. Ordered the com tam bi cha thit nuong- meat was super juicy and portion was generous. The pho was delicious also. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely come back.

Having just moved from Long Beach my husband and I needed to find a new place to enjoy Pho. Living in Alhambra we have more than enough places to choose from! We picked Noodle City in Monterey Park because of the reviews saying that the broth was really good. At our spot in Long Beach we loved this home made chili sauce that you could add to your Pho so for us, trying a new place had to be about at the very least the broth! The broth was very flavorful, there was just enough meat, and the iced Thai tea came in a to-go cup so I didn't have to rush through drinking it! My husband and I agree that we found a place that we will keep coming back to because we know for sure that we liked it!

Awesome service! Service is almost always the number one thing lacking at Asian restaurants, so it gives me great joy to write this review. Thanks guys you were great... So great that my mom hugged one of the waiters!!! P.S. if you order the bành xèo be prepared... It's the size of a newborn baby!!! Kudos to you guys!!!

Standard Vietnamese Restaurant with lots of option to choose from. Majority of the food is okay nothing stood out. Like that they had many options to choose from. Came here to eat banh beo because my favorite place Nem Nuong is temp closed, and was craving them. Food came out quick and was filling. Well probably come back if I want to go to a place that has lots of Vietnamese food option.

Great Pho place we discovered on date night. Our regular Pho place was Pho 79 but customer service is non existent. We love the customer service here and menu selections are great. Pho is one of the best we've had. Love their eggrolls too. Were now pretty regulars and have loved all our chosen entree's. Noise level is descent and service is fast and effecient. Ingredients are always fresh ans their locatiin is nice and clean and very family friendly. Would highly recommend this place

I finally 'righted' a botched attempt to come here a month ago, ending up at Kam Hong Garden. ARR! My first experience here was a take-out order: charbroiled beef rolls, chicken pho, and charbroiled beef vermicelli combo. I was given a glass of ice water with straw while I waited, which is seemingly a small gesture but a great indication of attentive service. When my order was ready, a different person brought it straight to the table I was waiting at instead of calling me over to get it. Again, reflecting highly on service. When I came home I was really impressed with how neatly and properly everything was packaged, nothing spilling out of its container. I've never seen such care with a take-out order. I sampled a lil bit of everything and it was ALL delicious! The charbroiled beef rolls were light and stuffed with lots of refreshing veggies, the perfect mix of beef and veggies. The chicken pho was really good and rivaled with my fav pho place- the broth was clean and flavorful, not overly salty, and the fried onions on top of the noodles added a unique taste. The only thing missing compared to my fav pho place is the other place includes a ton of veggies (broccoli, mushroom, carrot, baby bok choy). The eggrolls were perfectly crisp and savory, not too greasy. It's hard to f*** up eggrolls but I've had bad eggrolls at some places. My 1st visit was great! I took a friend here on my 2nd visit. We ordered the chicken curry and charbroiled beef vermicelli combo. Both times, the vermicelli combo was a huge portion so that will please the vermicelli lover. The chicken curry arrived with a scoop of rice (didn't care for the texture of the rice at all). I was a lil disappointed with the chicken curry, most of all the consistency of the sauce. It tasted decent, as there are different kinds of curry sauces. It was a sweet yellow curry sauce, just different than my favorite mildly spicy chicken curry elsewhere but it was a water-like consistency. I also ordered charbroiled beef rolls to go. I still rate them very highly. I love the spacious ambiance and amazing service. The staff is 'younger' and very attentive. Will definitely be one of my go-to places.

This is probably one of the better places in Monterey Park to eat Vietnamese food. The tables are clean, service is decent (when not busy), and the food is pretty good. I had the C18, which is basically Com tam but with beef instead of pork. Everything was pretty good and I give this dish 3 stars. The real kicker here is the Bun Bo Hue. Many places don't cook this soup noodle dish long enough, making the Pork/beef bone inedible. However, this place does it correctly, enough so that you can suck the marrow out of the bone (you perverts!). The broth was flavorful and not overly salted as well. I guess the only bad thing you can say is that there's a bunch of oil in the broth. Scoop it out and your golden. I'd skip the Nem Nuong spring rolls here, they were nothing special. Outside of Westminster, this place gets the job done.

Noodle City is located in a nice and fairly new complex in Monterey Park. They don't have a lot of parking spaces in the back especially since they share a lot with all the other popular joints in the area, namely, Beijing Pie House and Kam Hong Garden. There's always street parking or the lot next door. Upon walking in, you might be greeted with a very pungent incense smell. I really hope they can go easier on that or moving the shrine outside would do the trick. They have good service, english speaking servers, and I noticed that they are very respectful to elders. The prices here are reasonable and they have a minimum credit card charge of $10. So if ya don't have paper on you as long as you bring a buddy you are all good. :) Charbroiled beef spring rolls are very tasty. I enjoy them very much. They pack a lot of veggies and noodles in each one but only one strip of beef though. They pack it just right so the whole roll doesn't fall apart easily. I wasn't a huge fan of the dipping sauce only because I don't like fish sauce. You could probably ask for the peanut based sauce that comes with the pork rolls though! I sometimes make my own with half hoisin sauce and half sriracha. I also got the rare steak pho and they gave a big meat to noodle portion. I eat pho like once a year if I'm lucky sooo I'm not sure how it ranks but I thought it tasted fine and will be coming back so I can eat it more often! Pho sho! ;P Pictures of the food: Beef Spring Rolls yelp.com/biz_photos/HOCy… Pho yelp.com/biz_photos/HOCy…

I've been here twice so far. I love how they have ginger inside the broth to give it a nice flavorful kick. So far I have tried the Pho filet. The noodles they use for this one specifically is the wider rice oodles.

My senior mom doesn't really like Vietnamese food but my daughter introduced us to Noodle City and now it's one of our regular local favs. Once Mom ordered vermicelli n charbroiled beef by mistake instead of her usual beef pho. Now she's torn which to order.

I arrived here super hungry and was hoping to have an amazing bowl of pho. My regular place was close for the new year so i tried noodle city. The first thing i noticed when i got my bowl was that there was a lot of oil on top of my broth, i hate that! I wished they could have spent a little more time cleaning the fat off. After eating my meal i felt super bloated and a bit nauseous. It may have been the amount of sodium or msg in the soup.:( Too bad, i wished i left feeling a bit better about the place. It could have been an off day or something with the cook, it was New Years day. Poor guy was probably hung over and fell asleep while pouring the msg. Maybe ill try it again!:)

The on-the -side veggie was pretty fresh. I ordered P2 which has half cooked briskets, tendons, and tripes. I like the broth since the saltiness was just right for my tongue. Decent place to go. Clean dining environment.

My boyfriend and I were in the neighborhood and decided to give this place a chance based on the great reviews. As soon as we walked in, it was obvious that the waitress was having a bad night. Without greeting us, she simply gestured to an empty table. Shortly after she approached our table, she coldly threw the menus at us and turned around without even returning our "hellos." This place has quite the extensive menu, so we were really confused when she returned LITERALLY a minute later to (coldly) ask if we were ready to order. When we told her we needed a few more minutes, she rudely told us that the kitchen would close at 9:15 so we had to order now. I understand that it is standard for servers to mention the kitchen closing time but her overall demeanor was very unpleasant. Also, we arrived around 8:40 so there was more than enough time for us to order. After that we abandoned our menus and drove to our regular pho place. Needless to say we won't be going back.

This is the closest pho place to my house, and it just so happens that it's pretty damn good. They have sizes! So it's not one size fits all. I can finish the small, and that's the perfect portion size for me. I usually get pho tai and some nem nuong rolls (you get 3 of them). But since I'm pretty full after I finish my pho, I usually only eat one of the rolls. But my stubborn ass always has to order those rolls. I usually end up eating them a few hours later at home anyway. The prices are fairly reasonable - I usually end up spending about $20 for two bowls of pho and an order of nem nuong rolls. I call in for takeout sometimes too and they're pretty quick about getting my order together. I'm glad that this place is so close! And it's relatively healthy, so I can eat it guilt free. They accept credit cards, and they have a parking lot. But a lot of the times, the lot will be full, so you might have to find street parking.

just discovered this place not too long ago. it is located in a small plaza so it is easy to miss. they have a wide menu with alot of good eats by what i have had so far. the restaurant is clean and kept. don't have cash handy? minimum for card use is $10. beats the other places who require the $15 or $20 minimum.

WHAT THE PHO??! (lets see if I could get through this without cussing). Coconut milk & Jelly:: My new favorite drink (it's so PHO'king delicious!). yelp.com/biz_photos/nood… Seriously, it's that good that I would come here just for that. BUT, I'm here to review what all the PHO'king fuss is about: the PHO. Pho: 5 stars. yelp.com/biz_photos/nood… This soup is soo PHO'king good that by itself you might not need all that PHO'king Hoisin sauce that you always douse other pho's with. And for the price, it's a definite win. Menu: 5 stars: If grandma was Vietnamese then she would make egg rolls like Noodle City egg rolls. yelp.com/biz_photos/nood… The menu is sooooo PHO'king long, you could spend a week looking through that thing. Yet everything seems so good. We also ordered Shrimp Vermicelli, also very delicious yelp.com/biz_photos/nood… Portions are very generous, too. Service: minus 1/2 star "WHERE THE PHO IS OUR SERVER??" Servers don't really check on you once you order, but I won't dock a full point since our food came out impressively fast. The verdict? 4.5 stars. (Yess! I got through this without a single PHO'king cuss word! Fuck yea!).

What do you do when you are in the City of Monterey Park and you want some Noodles? Noodle City! Hey hey no boo'ing! I tried. After hitting major Banh Mi Cali fatigue, it was time to give up $5 Pho and Buy-one-get-one-Free drinks and trade it in for a dollar more quality Pho and one drink for the price of one drink. Give me a break. I like Banh Mi Cali and cheap prices. Monterey Park, you are spoiled so don't give me crap. If I lived there, I would eat pho and Dim Sum everyday.. would I live there maybe not.. that's another review. Even though, Irvine is becoming Asiantown. Even the best pho places here are pretty weak. Before you discredit my Pho judging abilities, I'm not Vietnamese, but there' are a lot of horrible Pho places in Westminster also.. Just saying... Noodle City Vietnamese Restaurant! I have this theory about pho places. If the name has the world Pho in it. It will suck! And if it is a Vietnamese Restaurant that serves Pho its will be good. Pho 54, Pho 48, Pho King Way. I couldn't make that up it's a real place. I thought the same thing "No Pho-King Way". Remember to always look for places titled Vietnamese Food or best case scenario if your Vietnamese friends mom invites you over for dinner bring her flowers and give her hug, because you are eating better than 95% of Pho Restaurants. Noodle City is excellent. The Broth was very thick and meaty just the way I like it. That's what she said. There was a decent amount of noodles and a lot of meat. Who needs a lot of noodles anyways? We are trying to stay Asian Skinny, right? The ice drinks were also good. The overall pricing was reasonable. Next time I'm in the area, I will swing by Noodle City again (Pho Sho) and avoid the crazy parking and lines at Banh Mi Cali. Highly Recommended. Don't take my word for it. **Sidenote** I read a few reviews about bad service and I was laughing. This is Vietnamese food, right? Ha ha. Maybe it's just me, but I choose food and never expect service. Speak up people! Having good service is not expected at a Vietnamese restaurants. If the services is good I would be worried, maybe they are hiding something :)

I think was like mid $6 for their combination bowl, is definite a very good pho, everything hit the spot from browl, noodle and the meat, not the fatty one some pho place they often cheap on you, they gave you the good cuts, the meat is quite tender no meat ball but is ok. The service is quite good, so many pho place nearby is tough choice. Minus 1 star cause is probably has msg my mouth was very thirsty after.

No good. .. i order my plate with egg roll add on to the dish.. After I eat the first bite of the egg roll it was spoil... i eat another piece to make sure if it is spoil and it was.. i didn't want to anymore of the egg roll. My sauce has so much fish sauce and I don't like it My friend order a plate with the steak bone and pork skin and rice. The rice was dry and not cook right and the pork skin has so much garlic where I eat a breath mint it didn't get the taste of garlic out of my mouth. First time visiting this location and coming from out town to here wasn't a good choice that I made.

A solid noodle place. Most of the items I have ordered have been good. Their pho is above average, and their banh beo (small steam rice cakes) are good too. They use the larger rice noodles in their pho (northern style). Service is good and the place is nice and clean.

FIRST OFF....I would like to highlight the strongest point that this place has. ****GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE***** This point alone can win most places a strong 5 star rating in my book. This places scores big in my book. From the moment you walk in, you are greeting with friendly smiles and warm staff. Servers are very attentive to your needs and go out of their way to help make your visit enjoyable. ***FAMILY FRIENDLY*** A huge point, being a family man, is a place's ability to accommodate children. They have high chairs at the ready, plastic bowls and spoons for toddlers, and can set aside smaller portions easily. The server even happily gave some candy to my two year old. And yes, she did ask me if it was okay first. Major bonus points! Okay...now onto the serious business....the food. I know many people in the San Gabriel Valley use Golden Deli as a strong benchmark. Don't get me wrong. I still love GD very much. It deserves every single award they have received. I do however see a strong competitor here at Noodle City. Here are the key points to consider: 1) BROTH - sold broth...no overpowering flavor of MSG...which many Pho joints will try to use as a crutch. 2) NOODLES: large serving amount. Also....many places....(even the over popular Ramen places are guilty) do not boil their noodles hot enough to clear off starchy flavor and for noodles to separate. 3) INGREDIENTS -- keep in mind...i'm grading off the standard...Pho Dac Biet. Healthy amounts of meat. good quality. Meat was added at the right time to cook from the hot broth. Result, a very tender slice. Many people cook the meat too long and we get a rubbery result. 4) VEGETABLES - this is a strong lead at GD, and I think that Noodle City met the challenge. Vegetables need to be FRESH! check! Small details like that can make or break Pho. So there you have it. VERDICT, a very strong competitor for GD. Just to let everyone know. This is always the strong backup if I don't want to feel like driving all the way to Las Tunas. You want a great Pho? great service? Check this place out! *check out their beef stew* also a great dish!

So this is where I was first introduced to Yelping thanks to Angie W., and this place has become my favorite Pho spot - so it's very fitting that I write my first Yelp review about Noodle City! My co-workers had been raving about this place so I finally tried it out and loved it! The atmosphere is warm and cozy. I appreciate that they keep the place tidy and the service is very friendly. The BEST part is the pho. I love the P24, rice noodles. It's full of flavor and there's definitely more than enough to keep you satisfied in the Regular size order- enough for lunch and dinner! They also offer the Large, but that's for superstar hungry people. The pricing is very reasonable. You can get a pho and a yummy Thai iced tea for under ten bucks. Definitely coming back. If you're in the mood for pho then I highly recommend it! Tip: The staff told me that many customers get this place mixed up with New Noodle City nearby.

I rarely go out to eat Viet food. And by rarely, I mean almost NEVER. My friend wanted to go here so I gave it a try. The prices are cheap. The pho broth is very light, so I can tell there's not as much MSG. I ordered com tam bi, it was average. Too much bi, not enough meat. To me, this is just another average Vietnamese place.

I love their pho, the broth is flavorful its not too salty and its definitely not too greasy, this place is kid friendly and me and my wife feels very comfortable with our 2 year old son. the staff is pleasant and attentive, i find myself coming here at least once a week!! lol

My favorite place for Vietnamese food in Monterey Park. Excellent service every time and the food is very consistent. Ordered the charbroiled beef and egg roll vermicelli Bún. Beef was well marinated and cooked. Lettuce is fresh and the egg rolls were very tasty. Service was good and friendly. Drink prices are reasonable - $2.10 for Vietnamese iced coffee and smoothies for $2.50.

Last year, I would have given this place 5 stars, but ever since they got greedy, 3 stars will suffice. The food there is really good, especially the noodle soups (this is coming from a picky critic). The problem I have with this place is the fact that they'd raise the price on everything (which is fine and understandable, but why reduce the quantity of food). A large bowl used to be around $6, but now you'll pay $6.75 for a large bowl (but you'll be given a smaller portion of noodles and meat). WHAT?!?! It's the principle of the matter and not the price that ticked me off. I used to go to this place 2 times a week for pho, but ever since they pulled that stupid move, I hardly go back.

Sigh, I wanted to give this a four star so bad... My family and I have been loyal customers of Noodle City since their first one on Valley. My lunches after elementary school all the way until high school were spent at Noodle City. The owner knew us so well, he adopted my sister as his goddaughter. Every time I came, I got the usual, tai bo vien, pho in soup with beef balls. Of course, sinh to bo, Avocado Smoothie. Three years ago, I would have rated this place an absolute 4.5 stars because they made the BEST pho around. Their beef balls were to die for: tender, well cooked, and tasty. Their broth was made well, definitely not too salty. Noodles were cooked to perfection where it was not too soft and not too crunchy. The up to date review of the food: Tai Bo Vien (Pho in Hot Soup with Beef Balls): 3 stars. I dont know what happened. I dont know if they changed cooks, changed meat companies, or something because the broth was overly salty and you literally SEE the MSG floating around happily, beef was over cooked and unappetizing, and noodles were not as great as before... Sin To Bo (Avocado Smoothie): 4 stars. This is only made well when it's the same guy who made my smoothies for 6 years. He's tall skinny and somewhat bald. Yes, I know to some people Avocado smoothie sounds insanely weird. My non-Asian friends and some non-Vietnamese friends are sicken by the sound of it. But you have no idea how great it tastes. It is light, dainty, and an absolute delight! I have gotten their rice plates before, and it's not as great. Stick to the Pho(s). Unlike most Viet places, it is very clean and the customer service is good because there are younger people instead of those older Viet people who favors Viet customers. Parking is ok. It's Socal, parking is not as bad as it is in Norcal. They have the tiniest parking lot, but there are plenty of street parking. I've been their customers for over 6 years. So yes, I know when their quality goes down. However, if you are their recent customers, you probably will like it!

How have I not heard about this pho place before. I've been to the noodle place next door a few times but I must've glanced over this place. A quick search on yelp for a lunch place remedied this. Parking was a pain on a weekend - totally full but I got lucky I think. The pie place in the same plaza was closed for remodeling too - parking must be even more horrible when it's open. However overall I was not impressed. But I didn't order the no. 1 combo pho which is my go-to for judging new Vietnamese places. So I'll probably have to go back and try that soon. Anyways I had read some reviews and noticed they had banh cuon, which I think is a type of noodle. Intrigued, I ordered this instead. What came out was very different than what I was expecting. The noodles were thick and made of rice and delicious. The broth was super plain and not as flavorful as pho broth though clear and not oily. And I though I ordered banh cuon with pork, I got three chunks of pork knuckles/bones (something with lots of bones and cartilage). I'm not a big bone sucking and cartilage person but I tried a little bit. And I remember reading the menu item just below this one say there was an entrée of banh cuon with pork hock, which I assume was what I ended up getting. If that was something else, then they just really need to differentiate between pork meat and other parts of the pork. So overall the meal wasn't filling. Really hoping to have a better experience next time with plain 'ol regular pho.

Note to self: Always point out that this location is on Garvey or else your friend will end up going to the one on Valley. I prefer this location because it just simply looks and feels cleaner. It's the newer of the two locations and the location isn't in a very busy plaza so this is probably my top choice. The quality of the pho is noticeably a lot better here as well. The last few times I've gone to the one on Valley, the broth was just overly oily I couldn't stand it. The broth here is just right and they portion everything perfectly. I got a satisfying amount of tendon and tripe in my pho and with one of their egg rolls, I left totally stuffed. The broth was very powerful and strong, it definitely did the trick and cured my hangover. On top of that, it cleared up my sinuses. You have two choices when ordering egg rolls. With our without vermicelli. It's probably too much to get it with the vermicelli when you're already getting pho but the egg rolls with just the vegetables is more than enough for a small party. The service was most excellent and the atmosphere is just overall great.

Really I do NOT see the hype. Barely any service, YOU flag staff down to take an order. YOU have to request water. YOU do the work they just go in the kitchen & bring it to u. Everything here took forever; ordering, refills, getting the check, looking for a helpful staff member. The food was lacking too, basic tasting pho-but it holds less oil/fat compare to other pho places, that have you feeling nasty after eating the fatty pho, which is good. I got the pho broth & noodle only because I'm not much of a meat eater, along with Thai ice tea-excellent by the way. The pho bowls are fulfilling and mighty on the stomach-for you do get full, even if you don't think you will. My friend on the vermicelli and all the food trimmings on it and he didn't finish it. also he said "that place (Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa ) by in-n-out is better". This place in my own for real Vietnamese food seems to be more on quantity than quality. For quality go to Saigon Flavor on Valley Ave & Del Mar Ave. 2 Minus for bad service & lack of flavor. The only thing good about my food trip was the sweet Thai iced tea & being with good friends. Most likely will not return, because there's other tastier Vietnamese restaurants in SGV. this one to me is just okay.

Yummy food. The shrimp roll I ordered was very tasty! Service wasn't the greatest. We were seated promptly, our order was taken right away and our water was brought out right after that. But once our food arrived, I had to flag down a waiter to get some more drinks. The waiter saw me, said he would be right over and 10 minutes later I was still waiting.

i really enjoy coming to this place...i come here on a rainy day or when i want something very close to home cooked food...their pho prices are very reasonable and they have good service....so check this place out if you want some good pho!!! my favorite thing to eat: Pho Tai :D

Its the Worst restaurant in the World. Yes, you should appreciate what the Homeless are eating sometime, because they are better than this place. Its Nasty, no taste what so ever. They have another restaurant in Alhambra, its bad but not this bad. I could cooking better, its very simple, just Fry the Egg Roll and Grill the beef, its that simple, but they Can't even do that. The Egg rolls are Microwave, the Beef or Pork are pre-cooked. Don't waste your time and money, do what the Homeless would do, those food are probably better.

whenever i'm craving for some vietnamese food, i always come to noodle city because it's super clean and their pho is so good! i always order their big bowl of pho with everything in it. just add a lil bit of hoisin sauce and saracha hot sauce...mm mmm good! the service is great as well. i think one of the workers there remember me because my family and i always come here.

This is the same people from the "New Noodle City" on Valley Blvd. The moved to this location due to some certain circumstances. But whatever the case maybe, I'm happy they got their new place here on Garvey Ave. Yay, my favorite pho place is back! Like Dennis, I went to the New Noodle City and it just didn't taste right. As we walked into Noodle City, we were greeted by the manager/owner. He was super nice, all smiles, and very happy to help us. Our food came out right away and it was just as good as I expected it to be. I ordered their well done flank and beef balls pho. The broth was tasty and they gave generous amount of meat (love having a good meat to noodle ratio). Overall, great prices, tasty food, extremely clean, and fast/helpful service.

If you want cheap Vietnamese food, this is the place to go. It's never too crowded, so they can provide you with undivided attention. The pho isn't spectacular, and the flavor is a tiny bit too intense. Overall, they're very generous with food and you won't go home with a half empty stomach. [edit] On May 18, 2008 I go to this place regularly when I don't feel like cooking. Service remains good, but my most recent visit was gross. I would have given it a C for hygiene. I could NOT believe there could be THAT MANY SMALL FLIES crawling on the floor, on the table... everywhere! I literally KILLED at least a dozen. The server was embarrassed when I pointed it out. They never really got into my food, but it was very irritating. This restaurant was on my 4-star list. How sad.

This is probably the best Pho place in Alhambra/Monterey Park area. It's better than the original Noodle City on Valley Blvd. Since they've moved, the new restaurant is cleaner and much more modern. The pho is as good as it gets! Don't think you will find a better pho place. I love vietnamese food and I'm glad this is close to my house. :)

This is restaurant I can consider a home away from home. My husband and I eat at noodle city every other weekend. It's prefect after a long crazy night of drinking. We ate there so much in the beginning that I got sick of eating just the pho so I started to order different things from the menu. I can't complain about the rice dishes, the are just a flavorful as the pho. I found my new favorite the the Filet mignon pho. I love that is nicely decorated and every time we walk in we never miss a game, the owner always has a game on TV.

i usually have okay experiences with this restaurant. but the last time i went one of the vietnamese waiter took more than his share of tips. i didn't even get to put the tip down. but what can you really expect from asian restaurant servers? the food is pretty good for its price. oh never ever order the banh beo... its so bad. this place does not know how to make those things.

arrived here around 2000 hours. wasn't crowed or packed but the last game with the magics vs. cavs game was on 2 huge flat screen tvs. ordered the large number one. it came with enough bale, bean sprouts, peppers, lime, and leaves. the entire restaurant itself looks pretty dam clean. tables and deck swept. condiment bottles in order and clean. the order came out pretty fast. there was so much in the pho i barely finish the entire bowl. everything from the meat to the noodles was fresh. i could actually taste the onions. nothing was overcooked. my friend ordered hot tea but i had to remind them twice. i guess it was because the game was on and all the waiters had their face glue to the tv. no excuses. didn't use the head.

Thanks to my fellow Yelper, Dennis....he told me about this place. It's much better than the other location on Valley. It's not as big but it's alot cleaner and nicer. My pork chop dish was great! Best of all...they take credit cards!

Between this place and the old "New" one on Valley, this one is nicer, cleaner and over all feels better. One TV, not so cultural music, occasional use of AC, and a nice soothing fountain. The waiters here, are the ones that used to work at the one on Valley. Some of them were a bit sleazy and insistent but that's the least of my concern. The soup at this place seems to be missing a certain flavor but I'm not sure what... (missing msg? ha~). Parking at this place is a lot easier than the other one.

    (4)
  • John B.

I ordered the number 1 on the pho menu. i couldn't finish it. it was deliciously flavorful but the bowl was bigger than my head.. which i guess can be good if you are a big type and can eat that much. the soup was really tasty. i think a successful pho restaurant needs to master the soup and this place has certainly done that. the iced coffee was very good too.. but that's not hard to mess up. for the price, it's definitely worth it.

Had a craving for pho for lunch today. So I looked up pho restaurants in and around the Monterey Park area. This popped up first on the list and noticed that it had 4 stars. After reading all of the positive reviews, I decided to drop on by and give it a go. Parking wasn't a problem since we arrived around 1pm. Upon walking in the door, we were already shown to our seats. Didn't even have to look at the menu. Got the pho xe lua for about $5.50 is not a bad price at all. Also ordered the spring roll with shrimp and pork. 5 minutes later, the pho is delivered to our table. Took a sip of the soup and knew I was in for a treat. The soup and the noodles are good. Al dente, just the way I like it. The only complaint I have with my dish was the meat was on the tough side. I don't know if I got the scrap ends that nobody wants, but the meat was on the overdone side. After scarfing down my bowl, I gave it a go with the spring roll. The sauce was not bad, but the pork in the spring roll was way overdone. It pretty much turned into powder when I was chewing it. The noodle was not fresh. I guess they made this dish ahead of time and we were the suckers that ordered it. This had to be the second worst spring roll I've had. The other time, I bought some spring rolls from a supermarket (never again) and threw up the whole night because it was expired. All in all, I like this place, it's clean, the food is good and price is very reasonable.

I came here last night with my bf for dinner around 7 ish and it was pretty empty. I was expecting a crowd because of the reviews from yelp. They sat us next to a table that hasn't been cleaned yet, when there was so many other open tables. The place's decor is pretty nice for a pho restaurant. However, the service wasn't as attentive as what most yelpers had described in their reviews. Althought it was pretty much empty in the restaurant....it took them awhile before they even asked us what we wanted to drink. The food was ok....it really was just average...i really don't know what all that raves about it are for. I think Pho Pasteur still tastes better than here...although i hate their furnitures (I never know where to put my knees). The pho tasted bland to me but at least they got an A for their health rating for now :) so go while it is still an A. This is pretty rare for an asian restaurant..

they have the best pho noodle soup anywhere! i never tried that shrimp in 7 small plate dish, but looks interesting. their eggrolls are not so great, but my friend loves ordering that there. the peppermint leaf and lemon drink gives me a stomach ache. but the bean and jelly drink is good. this place, too, is probably like 8 out of 10 very good with the pho. but depending on when u go, sometimes the soup is not so hot and the whole pho soup doesn't taste good. and sometimes the noodle gets overcooked too. but most of the time, the pho is perfect: good meat and tendon, fresh vegetables with ngo-gai leaves (that i like and most other vietnamese restaurants don't usually carry). one of the owner there is super nice. super customer service. the waiters too are cool. the place is nice and cool. i can't remember how good they are with the charbroiled meat and rice dishes. but if you are looking for good pho, this is the place for it.

I'm so glad they moved, I was a usual at the original on Valley, and the only bad thing was that older building was old. This new place is nice, and the food is just as good as always. Go for the Bun Ga Ri Ga, the chicken is melting off the bone.

After checking Yelp reviews, this place had the best reviews and hours. We actually came here twice during our LA trip. It appears that there are always patrons here at any time. Even at 9 pm. Overall, the food is legit. Even their pho ga is good. Pho, broken rice, spring rolls, egg rolls, and the vermicelli was all on point. The service is okay. It is clearly a family owned and run restaurant so service can varied. Our first visit, they forgot utensils and counted our cash wrong. Our second visit, they were on point. They split the check for you. $10 min for credit/debit card. One women and men. The women restaurant has a flushing problem. Private lot parking.

Not bad for a local pho restaurant food-wise. The soup is on the oilier side but tastes alright. They don't skimp out on the meat which is a plus. The egg rolls come out crispy and fresh. I really don't have a problem with the food here. What makes this restaurant unpleasant is the service. There were a couple of times when I came here less than an hour before close, and both times I sensed the impatience and hastiness vibing from the staff as they were stacking up all the chairs to make an obvious indication that they want us out of there asap. I'm always a fan of quick service, but RUSHED service is a different story. The most recent visit I had will most likely be the last time due to an incident that occurred to my friend - he accidentally left his sunglasses at our table, but when we came back just a few minutes after we left to pick them up, our table was cleared and the glasses were gone. We were told that no sunglasses were found at our spot. I don't want to point fingers, but I have to note that there were no other customers at the time, and the last time I checked, those sunglasses didn't own a pair of legs to run off on its own.

Really like their pho! I wish there was a place like this on the west side.. The broth was very good! Vermicelli dish's portion was very generous. I could not finish it. Service was very good!! So friendly. Parking is free.

So many pho places!! How does one simply choose? My preference? Ones that don't make me feel like killing myself after. So many pho places skimp on ingredients and drop handfuls of MSG as if that's going to make it taste any better. I'm pretty sensitive to filler ingredients, and I was a little apprehensive about eating pho in the first place. surprisingly, I didn't feel any side effects after eating at noodle city! The pho was light and flavorful and their spring roll peanut sauce is amazing. And of course, you're in mpk. You can't beat the price. Perfect quaint little place to curb your biggest pho cravings.

This places become my to-go joint for some good pho! The portions are huge, the broth is delicious and the noodles are smooth and not clumpy. The crispy egg rolls are super cheap for the number of rolls they give you! I hear it gets a little crowded during dinner rush so try to come a tad earlier! If you're in the SGV area and craving pho, I definitely recommend checking this place out! Private parking lot available!

We wanted to eat @ Beijing Pie House but it was packed and unorganized. I was starving and we decided to leave right before I almost fainted. Ordered ca phe sua da and bbq pork, shrimp paste, egg roll & nem combination plate. The ca phe sua da was not as strong as ca phe sua da from other places. The rice combination plate was kinda good. I regret not getting the pho from this place. Friendly workers and fast service. 3.5 stars!! Noodle City is almost yummylicious!!

My latest PHO tour adventure around the nation has taken me to Noodle City, in Monterey Park. Even though Noodle City is located in a little shady strip mall, the food and service here is what will bring me back here again in the future. Upon entering, I was quickly seated and handed a cold glass of water by my waiter. I proceeded to order the pho with the rare round steak and the flank and brisket. What makes a good pho soup, you ask me? 1) Aroma and taste of the pho broth. 2) Amount and quality of the meat accompaniments. Soup broth was piping hot and was delicious. Who doesn't love a good balance of cinnamon sticks, anise star, peppercorns and beef bones boiled for hours! There was also a sufficient amount of meat in my noodle soup, whereas most places you only get 3-4 slices of beef and call it a day. Service was up to par, especially my water glass was refilled consistently. Congrats Noodle City, you have won me over. You are definitely the Noodle Champion in Monterey Park!

One of my favorite pho restaurants. Service is awesome, broth is fragrant and little MSG from what it seems. Some of my favorites 1) pho : super generous with the tendon mm 2) banh xeo: great appetizers and it's really crispy Lastly read the damn story on the back of the menu about how pho came to be what is is today - it will change your life. Find the typos. Particularly misspelled 'communiist' spelled with two 'eyes' cuz it's super repressive .... Ok that was my bf's joke but it was a collaboration, I found the typo and he made the joke. It's been days and I'm still laughing

This is a small pho shop, which has a pretty typical vietmanese menu. The spring rolls were decent, with shrimp. The peanut sauce however was a little watery for my taste. I got pho with rare steak and tripe, which was good. The broth was decent as well with good flavor. The bowl was decent size too. Parking is in the lot or on the street. The service was good. They take credit card. Only bad thing is that there wasnt much AC in the place, just a large fan so may not be the best choice for a hot day.

Broth was exceptional! Didn't even use siracha or hoisin sauce. Sadly I didn't finish it all.. But P1 was tasty! Area looks like any other pho place.. Service wasn't anything special or out of the norm. I thought the peanut sauce for the spring rolls was a little bit runny. There wasn't enough ingredients tho, my bfs dish came with a little bit of brisket Over all if come back.

Noodle City is a decent pho spot. Not great, not bad. I usually come here during lunch because they're super quick! The pho broth is good and not oily, which is a good thing, and definitely hits the spot when you need a pho fix. The veggies they provide on the side are usually pretty fresh. The other dishes though, are just A-OK... Springs rolls are decent in flavor, wrapped nicely, and good portion (but definitely not Brodard standards, of course) Egg Rolls are also just decent. Crispy skin and good ingredients inside, but theirs just doesn't satisfy me. Rice plates are EH... I would pass on them. All the combinations seem to be lacking, if that makes sense? For example, if you wanted the charbroiled beef with possibly 2 other options like shrimp paste & egg rolls, but the usually only have combos of 2 items only.. :\ They could've updated their menus though.. I just haven't looked at the rice in a while. The flavors are also only JUST ok... the egg loaf is bland though. Service has always been good for me. Never any issues or had to wait long to get someones attention. If you're in a rush to get the check, just go up to the counter and you'll be helped right away. *& they're CLOSED ON TUESDAYS!!

Solid. Like what the surfer dudes say. "Solid bro". I guess that could mean a lot of things. In this case, meaning a solid bowl of noodle soup if you don't have time to wait in line somewhere else. Food comes out super fast and super hot. Pho tai nam is a-okay. The broth itself is a little on the salty side for me but nothing a little lime didn't fix. The nam meat is fairy fatty and there were only two slices of tai. Boo. Leggo my eggroll. Eggrolls are a good way to judge compare restaurants across the board. If a spot makes a good eggroll, they probably make everything else good also. It's an okay eggroll here. Less pork than I would have wanted, I almost thought it was a vegetarian eggroll at first. It was freshly fried though which was great.

I have been to several pho restaurants within the San Gabriel valley and I have to say that this place is by far the best pho that I have had yet. The broth was very delicious and well flavored. And the noodles and the meat inside the pho were more than I could have expected. I strongly recommend new comers to try this place and I will be suggesting this place to family and friends.

  • Kenneth H.

The servers here should really learn how to try and please the customers a little more here. We got served promptly and served quickly however when they asked how our pho was and we had a complaint they didnt want to do anything about it. Our pho literally had no meat and it was just piece after piece of fat which was confirmed by our waiter when we showed him. He said that next time there will be meat and didn't even offer to try and rectify the problem. The pho here is decent but its not any better than other places in the area. So until they put some meat in their pho I won't be going back.

Horrible service...my pho was completely full of fat...just fat tasteless beef... No one seemed to care. When I asked for foil to wrap my egg rolls to go the waiter told me they don't have that what they have is dirty not for wrapping food , bit confusing not sure if it was a language barrier. The quality was awful and the limes were old w no juice. I asked for my check 4 times and only one other table in the restaurant. I will be sticking to Golden Deli

Food was mediocre. When we first walked in, the waiters were really nice. However, while we were paying at the end, one waitress was extremely rude and hovered over us the end to watch how much tip we were putting in. She also rushed us out when they were closing even though there were other people still sitting there. Very rude and ruined the overall experience for us. Other staff were nice though besides the one lady (manager probably).

Noodle City, you get my respect for being a Vietnamese restaurant that opens until 10pm. Which means when I am craving comfort food I can depend on you to be serving that tasty tasty after I am getting off work. :) I've only been here once, I tried the: -Bun bo hue: Tasted weird than any i've ever had before. I'm going to make the assumption the cook is from another region of Vietnam than my family- definitely unique flavors! -Banh beo- Was wonderful and tasty. -Pho: My boyfriend had no complaints. I'm more than willing to give this place another try. The pricing is very decent, and servers were really nice.

Mehh. We came here with high hopes because we chose this place based on its four star reviews. This place turned out to be really mediocre. Food was bland. The waitress didn't have a notepad with her when she took our order. I ordered a shrimp roll appetizer and beated egg soda, my boyfriend ordered well done brisket pho. His pho came first. He says his pho was bland, didn't have enough meat, had a lot of fatty meat, and didn't fill him up, even though he ordered a large. He said he felt ripped off eating his pho. I waited a little for my appetizer. The wait was a bit annoying. My beated egg soda tasted like cake in the beginning, then the soda diluted it and it started tasting bland. When my spring rolls finally came, I was disappointed upon first look. In the menu, the pictures of the rolls were of decent size, like the length of a pen. The spring rolls that arrived at my table were the size you make when you make a C with your thumb and index finger. They were definitely trying to rip me off. When I tasted them, all I could think was, BLAND. They stuffed it up with a whole lot of white noodle. Overall, pretty disappointed. The Noodle City on Valley Blvd in Alhambra tastes of better quality.

The customer service here is on point. All the workers here are extremely attentive looking out for what every customer needs. They already had my seat ready before I entered the door, which I thought was a little bit funny. The food was good, no complaints here. This is my first time here so I don't know how busy it gets, but it was empty on a Friday evening.

I love this place! A client of mine introduced me to it when I told her my love for authentic pho. I order the beef pho and it's made to perfection. The noddles are a great texture and the broth is not too salty but still very tasty. By far the best pho I've ever had. Tip: order an ice coffee- it's super sweet and creamy! I look forward to coming back here soon.

Decent Vietnamese fare. Good portions and the food tastes good. No banh mi of any kind tho, so if that is your thing, this place is not for you.

I had plenty of Pho all over so cal & in the South East. Once I had Noodle City I can't go anywhere else. There broth has great flavor & very few Pho spots offer filet mignon. Plus plus the staff are so great...nice & welcoming.

Good pho with plenty of brisket, tasty com tam, bun cha gio is good too, kind service, AC was nice and strong, it's hot today, and to top it off, free unsweetened ice tea!

I wasn't expecting much, so in the end, I was pretty impressed by the flavors of their vermicelli. The bowls are HUGE, and even the spring rolls have generous portions of meat inside. The fish sauce has a mild flavor, and the veggies inside the bowl seemed fresh. The egg rolls inside were generous and tasty. My main recommendation would be to cut the nem nuong meat pieces a bit smaller to get more flavor developed on them. Prior to coming here, I've never seen such thick cuts of the stuff!

Decent pho for under $7. The soup isn't the best, but it's still good on a cold day. They also give a fair amount of noodles and meat, and it's enough to keep me coming back. I've been coming here for years since it's pretty close by to home and doesn't ever seem to get too crowded. You can have a nice conversation during lunch time and not feel like you need to get out of the restaurant immediately after finishing your meal. In comparison to other local pho places in the area, I would say that Pho Fillet 2 is probably still the best based on a combination of taste, price, and portions.

When you want authentic Vietnamese food, this is the place to be. You can't go wrong here as the soup base is just right for Pho. I had P1 (rare beef) Pho and a side order of Shrimp Sping rolls. The spring rolls are just what you expected, authentic, fresh and tasty. The dipping sauce that came with it is large as compared to most places. Highly recommended for that soul food you're craving for. There are lots of parking space in the back and also on the streets.

This place is ok, it's changed ownership since the last time i was there. I go the combo pho, you really can't miss. the service was ok, I had actually wanted grilled pork with my pho, but they only had with rice and would not accommodate. Other places have it as a menu item. i didn't think it was that far fetched. Just give me pho noodles instead of rice. regardless, the food was ok, the price was ok, and the place was ok. the whole experience was just A-OK I wouldn't recommend. There are 20 other pho joints within 5 miles of this place.

Ordered the broken rice with charbroiled pork and bean curd skin with shrimp paste. The so-called "paste" but more akin to a sausage. Rice has a beautiful texture and consistently cooked. The pork was decent. I also had one of the best avocado milk shakes I have ever had. I must say it was overall a very positive experience. The service was quick.

Not too shabby at all. There are plenty of Pho spots in this area but, this one is def one of the better ones. The spring rolls I had were good too. I'm glad I live close by so I can just walk there if need be. It's plenty of food for a decent price. I look forward to trying more of their food.

Service was excellent and the prices are reasonable. The broken rice dishes are tasty. The small rice cake platters are among the best I've tasted here. Parking: Additional parking spaces behind the plaza.

Came here one rainy day to order Pho. I ordered the combination Pho and a side order of spring rolls. It was quite tasty without complaints. I just can't really tell if there is msg in the broth. But, I know most places do have it. The place was small. And it didn't really feel like anything extraordinary. But, another decent eatery for a casual lunch. The service was just regular, meaning the come take your order and bring you the food. They don't really come around asking if everything is okay. But, they waiter will come if you flag him down. Typical for an Asian place. Would I come back? Yes. But, they need to do something about their tight parking in the back. Their lot is shared with too many stores in the same complex.

My 1st time here with my daughter. Ordered a banh beo, pho tai nam, and broken rice with charbroiled beef and egg rolls. Bang brother was hairband fresh pretty good, the pho broth was decent and good size, egg rolls and rich dish was excellent. It was pretty busy so we were sat at a very small table, they offered a bigger one as soon as 1 was available. service was good bill was under 20 bucks will be back again

  • Peter L.

Definitely a fan of the appetizer banh beo. I usually have that and an order of the charbroiled pork with egg roll, shrimp wrap paste and rice. Voila, perfect combination. That also give you plenty of left overs to bring home which still taste great and won't hurt your wallet.

This place is really good. They always have a game on their TV so that's a plus. The wait staff is friendly. The pho with shrimp is magically makes you feel better and hits the spot every time. The diced filet mignon is also very juicy with a lot of flavor. If you're not that a hungry one pho bowl is enough for two = ) On the weekends parking can get bad but other than that go check this place out.

I'm definitely coming back to this place. I would give it a 4.5. I actually came here alone because it was close to my house and I had an extreme craving for pho. I've made it a mission to try as many pho places as possible! Having tried a lot of places around west LA area, I can say that this place was the cheapest and best I've had so far. I just get the Dac Biet wherever I go so that I can compare. The service was really quick and the atmosphere reply really homey. While I was eating, they had covers of music from jayesslee on YouTube. Really fit the atmosphere.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think Noodle City is TERRIBLE PARKING. The parking lot is not only tiny, but is poorly designed so that once you go in, you have to go all the way to the back of the lot, U-turn, and come back out. And there's so little space as it is. I think there are literally only 20-30 spaces, if that. So if you're passing by on Garvey and see that all the spots in the front are filled, the spots in the back most likely are, too. Save yourself the trouble of this hassle of a parking lot and go street parking instead. Other than that, the prices here are standard for noodles in the SGV area, around $5-7. I got che ba mau for only $2.95, which I was very excited about (just like every other time I order it) until I actually started drinking/ eating it and realized that they had used kidney bean instead of red bean. I don't know whether it's because they ran out of red bean or because they always use kidney bean or because they thought I wouldn't notice the difference, but I did not appreciate the "substitute"! It made the consumption process much more difficult since kidney beans are much bigger and harder to chew... The glass noodles with crab meat, pork, etc. was not extraordinary. It wasn't plain, but it wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. I appreciated that the broth seemed to have less MSG than most others, though. And the kidney bean situation also applies to the noodles... I got udon noodles instead of glass noodles. I'm pretty sure that glass noodles are the thin transparent ones (hence the descriptive name), but no. I got udon. Hmph. My friend got a dry vermicelli bowl, which I didn't try but which she said was "okay." If it's any help, her dish really did look just "okay." We also got the rice cake (banh beo) appetizer. I believe there were nine pieces to the dish (about $4-5), and it was very filling... It's bland and dry if you don't use the sauce provided, so make sure to generously pour it on! For about $24, we enjoyed a nice lunch and chat. Considering the mistaken substitutions they gave me, I'd give Noodle City 3.5 stars, but considering its pristine cleanliness, I'm rounding up to 4.

Came here for lunch once with the boyfriend because we couldn't show up to Saigon flavor 3 times that week, so we had to change LOL. Heres a thing about the boyfriend, he LOVES Vietnamese food and anything that has noodles and nuoc mam he will eat. So we decided to try this little joint hidden in the corner. This place is good. I had their bun thit nuong cha and it was delicious and he had Pho and we ordered eggrolls on the side and everything was gooooodddd. They give you a good portion size and is not too big or too small. Staff was very nice and attentive. I really like how they take credit cards here too because most small joints usually don't. Will def be coming back!

GOOD FOOD. Their pho broth is flavorful and isn't greasy. They provide fresh vegetables and aromatics and service is excellent. Mostly because we've become semi-regulars and the owners are really great people. Pho - don't pass it up Broken rice - really well done and i love that egg thing.. what's it called?! Cold noodles - love... one of my favourites Egg rolls - wrap those puppies in lettuce and dip it in some fish sauce.. freakin ace Okay. I like this place! I hope they keep up the good work. Once you start slackin, I start spreading the word that people should avoid you. That's how it goes mang.

Always been a fan of this place and their pho, nice service, they have lcd tvs. Their pho is really good here, prepared nicely, you can always ask for the rare steak on the side. I came here the other day and ordered the com tam which is a broken rice dish, I forgot the full name but the one I ordered came with a baked egg, shredded pork and char boiled beef with a side of fish sauce. This Vietnamese joint is probably the first one I've been to where they actually organize and cut everything into small sizes for you for their com tam plates so that you don't need a knife and everything isn't all meshed together. But it actually does make it look small and doesn't really look like a lot, but still really good. The parking isn't all that great because the plaza itself is quite small that it is in.

This is my Pho spot around the SGV area, I like this place better than Golden Deli. GD has a crazy line almost all the time, its just Pho, why need to wait over 5 min? I also feel the amount of MSG used at Noodle City is less than at Golden Deli, since I'm only thirsty for half the day after NC vs almost all day at GD... I also like the egg rolls better at NC, as they are less oily and have more of that dry crunchy skin which I prefer over the ones that look oily and darker. Only thing I bang my head against the wall here, is that for whatever reason all the waiters at NC never write anything down like paper/pen is a rare commodity and try to remember everything ordered. I think they success rate and remembering the order correctly is about 65% (and my typical order is beef pho, egg rolls and thai iced tea).

Clean decor, good service and cheap and tasty pho all make for a great experience! Don't get this confused with the other Noodle City! I come here often for my pho fixing with co-workers. The prices are very affordable for a big bowl of pho! And they must either use little or no MSG as I never walk away half as thirsty as other pho spots! If you're feeling an appetizer, check out the eggrolls!

Obviously, if you are Vietnamese, you should know something about Vietnamese food right? Not always! I have a friend who is 1/8 Vietnamese and 7/8 white, and of course looks completely white, and knows NOTHING about Vietnamese food. I took it upon myself to introduce the delicious culinary world of Vietnamese cuisine to him and of course, it was past 9pm on a weekday and every Vietnamese place in the area was closed, except for, drumroll please.... NOODLE CITY!!!!!!! And they did not disappoint! They welcomed us hungry stragglers with warm open arms and affordable menus. Michael Jackson videos kept us distracted and entertained. Broken rice with shredded pork, egg on meatloaf, beancurd skin, and charboiled pork was amazing! Best Vietnamese rice dish I've had. A variety of meat all very tasty and different. YUM. charboiled pork spring roll. Why did we order so much pork? I don't remember now but it was good and crispy and very filling and oh, let's not forget about the sauce. When it comes to spring rolls, it's ALL about the sauce. Peanut sauce to be exact!!! The best! A huge bowl's worth to keep me happy. Pho was aromatic and tasted good too. the soup was good and the rest is history. We over-ordered and couldn't finish the whole thing but it gets my stamp of approval. Service was sufficient. They were closing at 10 and we strolled in and ordered a bunch of food at 9:15ish. Not great at refilling tea I must say. They don't give you the pot, just tiny fist sized cups and I drink even more than I eat. Sucks. Just give me the damn teapot!

I came here a few days ago, late at night, for pho and any vietnamese food with fish sauce. I ordered Pho and banh beo. I was super hungry and thought i can eat them all..boy was I wrong! The pho was good and it actually filled me up but when I got to the banh beo. I was so disappointed!! it was super hard like a rock! not kidding..I know my vietnamese food very well and it looks like they already made the banh beo but just pop it in the microwave and served it to me!! since i didn't even touch one of the banh beo and they had me pay for it still...that is the reason why i am giving them 1 star!! i am not happy with this! you deserved that 1 star, noodle city!! :( even though your pho is pretty good and super close to my house..oh wells. there are TONS of vietnamese restaurants that i can go to anyways :p So..i am not missing out. BYEE! :)

HOT SOUP. HEAVY BROTH. LOTS OF MEAT. If this is how you like to pho, then this is definitely the place for you. I love the hot soup part, but leaning more towards veggie, the heavy, dark broth and meatiness turned me off. Yes, heavy dark broth means flavor, but I tend to like my pho light and fresh. My folks on the other hand would give them 5 stars since that's how they like their pho and also because Noodle City is 3 minutes from the casa. In addition to pho, we got a broken rice platter. My favorite thing about broken rice is well, the broken rice so that I can soak it with the fish sauce. Their broken rice wasn't broken, but sticky - it just didn't hit the spot. Pouring the fish sauce onto the sticky rice made it porridge-y. Service is subtlety nice. They don't quite welcome you with open arms, but they are attentive and refill your tea. Location here also makes this place very easy to miss which totally sucks from the business perspective. It's wedged in this dim, little shopping center between New and Orange. Having lived in MPK my whole life, it took more than a decade to figure out that this plaza exists.

This spot is so pho-ken good..lol The flavors are all there. I ordered the P19 beef ball pho $5.95 and we also got the B7 vermacialli also 5.95. They give you a good amount of food. Every bite you take is full of flavors and there egg rolls wow amazing and mouth watering. Only thing is that its pretty hidden so it was a little hard to find but I'm glad we did.

My go-to place for pho and spring rolls. On a hot summer day, there's nothing that quenches my thirst and sweet tooth more than their 3 colored bean drink. I swear there is no place out in this area that has a better tasting one. My ex claims that their iced coffee is super strong enough to keep him up, and this is coming from a man who knows his energy drinks and coffee. My brother tried it once when my ex and I took him out for dinner and his only remark that it tasted strongly like coffee. Well, duh, little brother. Their pho is nothing short of good. The soup may be doused with unhealthy MSG, but the best things in life are usually horrible for your health :| How unfair. The bowl is big, and one order is enough to fill me up. The meats that they throw in it (according to your order) is always generous enough, but not TOO much mixed in with the right amount of onions :x Oh, and the spring rolls. Tsk tsk tsk, I could get fat off of these things. They're crunchy on the outside, and delish on the inside - just how a spring roll should be! They're served with a side of greens that you're supposed to wrap around the spring roll and dipped in the sauce, but I don't bother. Too much effort, and they're good by themselves. The staff is alright; they're not nice, but they're not mean. If anything, I don't think they really pay much attention to their customers unless they're friends so don't expect to start any type of real conversation with them. Their English may not be up to par either since we usually have to point at what we want (or else we end up with the wrong orders). The environment is very clean compared to most pho places I've been, and on a game night, this is the place to be! Big screen TVs and cheerful company.

I frequently visit this place ever Sunday because It is around the area where I play my basketball games. This place is pretty awesome for me. I order the B7 which is the grilled beef, egg rolls, rice noodles, and lettuce with bean sprout. Pour in the fish sauce and you are good to go. I also tried the Pho here and its pretty good as well. Quick summary of Noodle city below. The good: * Opens late daily 8am - 10 pm * Accepts credit cards. Lots of pho places only accepts cash. * Great prices (average plate is around $6- $7) * Friendly customer service * Has a TV with sports on all the time =) * Has awesome Thai Iced Tea The Bad: * They do not have larger pho bowls. The Ugly: * Horrible parking. I suggest to locate street parking when you visit this place. Overall a great place to check out. I will continue to support this place for a long as I can continue to play basketball every Sunday. Thank you Noodle City!

Food is okay but what ruins this place is that their employees smoke outside the door and the smoke fumes gets inside the restaurant. The pho is also loaded with MSG I was thirsty the whole night. Avoid if you don't like smoke or MSG.

There aren't many places that get it right: the perfect blend between good customer service, cleanliness and most importantly, EXCELLENT PHO. On all three counts, Noodle City is heads and shoulders above its competition. Customer service is responsive AND with smiles. Most vietnamese restaurants are one or the other. Noodle City has it both. This can be attributed to some of the younger wait staff, some of whom seem like they just came from Vietnam. I suppose this lends an air of authenticity. As a former Army medic, I also value cleanliness - this place makes me erupt with glee. Dishware is always delivered in these little wicker baskets under fresh napkins rather than have the dish ware sitting in a cup that's been there for a couple decades. Plus, the dish ware actually SHINES. What the hell? An asian restaurant that has dish ware WITHOUT the 'goo of asia'? AWESOME. And now, the most important part - their Pho. Flavorful, large, packed with meat, noodles that are fresh and a broth that warms your core. I was hesitant to add hoison and chili sauce to my Pho for fear of ruining a great tasting soup. Would I give my left nut to continue eating at Noodle City? NEVER. I like both of my nuts. But I'll happily give a pinky toe or a bit of my ear.

We wanted to eat something quick because we had tickets to see Star Trek at the Hollywood Arclight. We decided on Noodle City. I had an order of Charbroiled Beef and Spring Roll with dry vermicelli. It was all pretty good, but I thought the beef was a bit tasteless and too chewy this time. The spring roll was very good. The other person in my party had the Pho Tai (rare beef) and thought her dish was very good. We also ordered spring rolls (5 per order) and they are very good. Including tip, the meal was under $20. I did notice that the restaurant replaced their flat screen TV (approx. 37") with a larger one (approx. 50") and moved their first flat screen TV to the other side of the restaurant, so it's a great place to watch a game while eating. Cheers!

This spot was actually very good and in Monterey Park you have tons of options. My wife ordered their egg rolls which were very flavorful and nice and crunchy (those didn't make it home). I speed my way home with the rest of my meal because the smell was intoxicating. My wife ordered the beef ball Pho and the broth was amazing. We also appreciated how they separated all the items so it wouldn't be soggy when we arrived at home. The serving we got was large enough to make two large bowls and we both got full. Also their vermicelli salad was extremely delicious. The best part was that the meal was under $15.

I've been to several Pho spots and I have to say this place is the best. I usually order the Pho with rare steak and tripe--delicious! The soup is flavory and the mint leaves and bean sprouts just adds that extra touch to it. If you like egg rolls, you need to try them here as well. I highly recommend this place for any occasion. The service is great and the place is very clean.

I was here for lunch with a co-worker of mine - we both order pho and grilled beef spring roll. Clean environment and friendly service, but, I look for more then just those two items. The broth was good, the temperature was right and the noodles was just the right portion - however, it wasn't the best I had. Same with the spring roll, it feels like something was missing. (the amount of herbs). Would I come back again, yes I would - it was good, just have to try more different dishes here.

I usually don't like to give 5 stars but from my personal point of view this place is a 5. Food quality - 4, the food is noticeably better then your average Pho/Vietnamese restaurant. What really makes this place good is that their Pho AND Com Tam is good. Most places either have good noodles or good rice...not both Service - 4, this is a relative rating...as in relative to other Asian restaurants (which normally have poor service). Portions/Value/Price - 5, Price is about average, maybe a little lower then most. The portions are large, the amount of noodles they give you is noticeably more then your average Pho restaurant Convenience - 5, this place is like a mile from my house so it's very convenient for ME :) ... the parking lot is not large but 99% of the time you will not have problems finding parking. And this place is never really packed so you don't have to wait. The convenience category is very important to me. When i just want to get some food on a random week night I DON'T want to - 1. drive far 2. have to search for parking 3. have to wait to be seated So overall from a food standpoint this place isn't super amazing or anything but overall it's a really solid standby for those lazy weeknights p.s. their Bun Bo Hue is pretty good too! their Bun Bo Hue is pretty good too

A-OK. Available Parking, Fast Service, and a variety of differen dishes on the menu. I didn't get the nem nuong sping rolls that I wanted. Instead I got bbq pork. I am not sure if ordered wrong or if it was their mistake. I just sucked it up, but I was dissapointed. The food was good, tasty, and fresh the way Vietnamese food should be. I ordered BUN and my boyfriend ordered a rice dish. For my bun they gave lots of rice noodles.

The weather is finally getting colder and it's time for some Pho! I finally ventured out to Monterey Park (and not Westminster) for some hot tasty noodles and saw that this place had a decent Yelp review and they are spot on. Upsides: - Pho broth was meaty, delicious, and not too fatty but with just enough to lock in the savory goodness. - Meat was sliced thin and the tendon (Gan) was soft and tasted like it had stewed all day Downsides: - For 5.75, the regular size bowl was just a tad small (perfect size for me, too small for the hubby) Staff was really nice, place was clean, and food was great. They take credit cards and have their own parking lot - hard to beat!

Went here for breakfast at 10am on a weekday and it was great! Ordered two kinds of pho on a cold winter morning and it totally hit the spot. The broth was really good (not oily or greasy) and the side plate of veggies was really fresh. The service was awesome (really nice waitress!). The portions were appropriate (not too big) and the price was super affordable ($12 including tax for two bowls of pho). The inside of the restaurant was very simple, but CLEAN. Can't take that for granted in the SGV. Can't wait to come back here and try other dishes on the menu. My new go-to spot for pho on Garvey :)

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. My boyfriend and I come here on a bi-weekly basis and just can't ever get enough. The employees are extremely kind, one particular girl is really funny. We always get two large P19s: pho with beef meatballs. The meatballs here are the kind with tiny blobs of fat, which I love and there's always so much. I've never had the problem of running out of meatballs before I run out of noodles but I always encounter that problem here. It's a good problem to have. I prefer to come in for dinner because the broth will be darker, deeper and beefier since it's getting to the end of the day and the flavors have had more time to party in the pot. I can't comment on their other dishes except for appetizers (I wish I could drink the peanut and hoisin sauce that comes with the spring rolls) because their pho is just too fantastic.

This is the second time we visit this place. Though the visit is great, they are attentive and quick, the food was sort of bland and needed salt. If you are on the look out though for quick pho, it serves that purpose. I also tried the pineapple shake and it was pretty good. I enjoyed it considering it was like freezing outside!

I saw numerous four star reviews on this place in the SG valley so I thought I give it a shot. I ordered the pho xe lua, goi cuon, and sinh to mit. Pho xe lua broth was bland and mediocre. It does not merit the high rating I've seen previously. It had good portions Goi Cuon was not fresh. The noodles and pork were dry. Plus on top of that I got it a few minutes after receiving my Pho. One of my pet peeves when dining is when you get your appetizer after your entree has been served. Sinh to mit (Jackfruit Shake) was delicious. It was pretty much the highlight of the meal. Cleanliness and service was on par with all the other asian restaurants that populate the SG valley.

One of the best service I've ever experienced. Food comes fast and fresh hot out of the kitchen. If you're on a diet don't come here, you'll break it. The food is that good.

I discovered this place, thanks to you guys (YELP), and had many reviews with a four star rating. The bf, his bro, and I decided to give this restaurant a try. The place looks a little cluttered but I was glad to be seated right away in the corner booth. As we were given our menus, we were amazed by the prices. It was cheap and affordable. I ordered the Pho Bo Vien, which is the vermicelli beef ball soup. I liked the fact that the broth wasn't greasy at all and flavorful. According to my soup, there were a lot of noodles and I'm such a fan of it, so kudos to that. We also ordered some spring rolls and they were made FRESH. The dipping sauce was nice and light, which is good for the health conscientious type. Although, it came after our soups, their customer service was able to make up for that. The waiters were attentive and came by our booth several times if we needed anything. Noodle City has gained three more customers. Will definitely come back again when we're in the area.

When I want a quick fix of pho and spring rolls, this is one of my regular places I come to. Can't beat the price of about $5 for a bowl of pho or add $1 more to super size it that comes hand in hand with authenticity. I've tried another place across the street and their noodles were just disgusting. I'm sure there are other great pho places in the area, but this is my go to place when I want something simple and hearty.

Nice clean restaurant with 2 big screen TV. Food was decent, but service was so-so tonight because everyone were too busy watching the last 5 minutes of the Lakers game. Haha! No big complaints about their service, I was too busy watching the game myself, but I found it funny that they would stroll over to take our order conveniently when there was a timeout or when it switched to commercial. Noodle City seems like the typical Vietnamese restaurant wherein it dedicated 1 full page solely for Pho, but I am one of those people that overlook the Pho section and look for my 2 favorite Vietnamese Noodle Soup: 1) Bun Rieu (Vermicelli with pork in tomato based soup); and 2) Bun Bo Hue (Vermicelli with beef, pork blood, pig knuckles in Hue's Soup). Was a little disappointed that I did not find Bun Rieu on the menu, so I went with my 2nd choice: BUN BO HUE (#B22) for $6.15. The soup base is slightly spicy and perfect to get my appetite going. Pork knuckle was soft and tender and I didn't had to tear it off like a caveman. Beef was a little bit on the chewy side (but it might be just me because I still can't chew after my recent wisdom tooth extraction). Definitely no complaints with the pork blood. I noticed that they are more generous with their serving of pork blood in comparison to other Vietnamese restaurant in the area too. OVERALL: Good experience at Noodle City, would definitely come back and try other dishes on the menu next time.

I came here this weekend after my Optometrist appointment next door and I was delighted to find out that I could grab some pho within walking distance. I ordered the pho house special and egg rolls. The food came really quick and the first thing I noticed was the portion size. The portions for pho is ALOT more than what other places serve and the best part is that they don't skimp on the noodles or meat! I've been to plenty of pho places where they serve you a huge bowl but then you realize that there's barely any noodles or meat in there, and that its just a huge bowl of soup. The egg rolls came with lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, and mint. They were hot and delicious! I am also pretty OCD about the freshness of the veggies and I am happy to say that they were crisp and fresh! No insect eaten holes on any of the mint leaves!

I love me some noodle city. Been coming here for over a year and pay my weekly tithe to the Pho gods. The service is quick, portions are amenable and the quality of the ingredients is good and fresh. Service-always been treated with a smile and get what i want. Portions-Great portions for what you pay. Really hungry pay $1 more get more noodles. Prices on point with surrounding businesses in the area. Quality-My Pho fixins' are fresh and clean. Just like if i would have bought them at Bristol Farms to eat. Nice spouts, beautiful basil, fresh limes and vibrantly green jalapenos. Meat-Good quality fresh meat, I notice less fat in the broth which is good and meat smells as it should. Cleanliness-Excellent, very clean and clean bathroom too. Westminister is too far for me to go for Pho and Bhun however, no need to go there when i have Noodle City nearby. If you're going to be a jerk and complain about the parking you need to leave L.A. and go live in Texas.

A big plus is they open early so it's become a regular stop in the morning after I drop off my son at school. I'm a creature of habit so have only ordered the P3. Pho with well done flank steak, tripe and tendon. Comes out to only $5.93 including tax. The owner is really nice. Always brings out an extra little bowl of the broth when I'm halfway through since I think he figured out I like my soup piping hot. They're also generous on the portion ...to the point where I have to ask them to only give half the noodles (since I'm trying to watch my carbs, or pretend to) Service is quick and friendly.

I've recently started working in LA and have been told that some of the best Asian restaurants are here. Yesterday was my first time eating here and I have to say that the P26 (Filet Mignon Pho) was great!! Now this is not the best pho I have ever had, but very close! The best I have had so far is at a place named Pho Hong Phat in Long Beach. On the plus side, the small was too much for me to finish. They give you so many noodles and the broth is amazing. The place is much cleaner then the average hole in the wall Vietnamese place. The parking here is horrible! But with that in mind, I will definitely be coming back here on a regular basis =0)

this place is my go-to spot for pho! i always get the pho bo vien (meatballs) and it hits the spot every single time. their beef balls are just so tasty and tender and they give you a lot! their cha gio (egg rolls) are very tasty as well.. with a crisp piece of lettuce. NOM. and their service, the busboy is sooo nice. always attentive and even once when i was waiting for my take out, he brought me tea. he didn't have to do that, i was not dining in.. and didn't have an obligation to tip. so nice of him, to be so sweet because it was cold outside. the owner here, which i think is mostly at noodle guy now since it's new.. is also very sweet. you can tell he remembers his customers by his warm smile and pat on the back when he sees you. one time, he even gave us some drinks they planned to put on the menu for free. just to see how we liked it . definitely come here if you want a nice clean atmosphere with nice service to go with your hot, delicious pho :)

Had filet mignon pho and filet mignon broken rice. The pho. broth, rice, and fixings were great. The filet mignon tough and hard to chew. The only steak our kids will eat is filet mignon, due to its softness, juiciness and tenderness - they knew something was wrong. But, we will come back because I've been here before for other meats and they were fine. Same for my wife. Even though it was her first time, she can tell by the flavors, presentation and service, that other items such as shrimp paste, charbroiled pork and chicken items hold promise. Aside from the poor filet mignon, (three dishces of filet mignon) we still had a good time, which says a lot. Price, service, décor was all very decent and acceptable. We recommend you try this place. Allergy alert: I need to call and ask them, but I think they stir fry with peanut oil. Got back 2 hrs ago and daughter has hives. If you have a peanut allergy, better ask when ordering grilled items.

We brought a friend here for a sober-up/birthday lunch yesterday and while I thoroughly enjoyed the Pho Dac Biet the first time, I wanted to try something different so I went for the charbroiled pork, egg rolls, beancurd-wrapped shrimp paste, and red rice. Have you ever been really excited to try something that sounded and looked great, but as soon as you tasted it, your expectations went down the drain? Such is the story of Menu item #C21. In one word, it was bland. The portion was decent, but without flavor, it didn't matter. The beau had the Pho Ga and he said it was likewise - bland, and they used different (wider) rice noodles, which got soggy more quickly. Service was good; the waiters friendly and pleased to serve, but the food was just disappointing. I'd come back only for the Pho (and not the clear-broth pho, at that). 3.5 stars.

The first thing I noticed when I arrived at Noodle City is that this place does not look like many Pho places around the SGV. It's clean, bright and even on a recent triple digit temperature day the a/c was on and enjoying pho was not a problem. I had the Tai nam Gau (rare steak, flank and well-done brisket) and thought the broth was very flavorful; lacked the after taste I've encountered before and was also very light. Another Yelper mentioned no MSG, perhaps that's the secret. Next time I'll ask. The restaurant also has a clear view of the kitchen and everything inside looks very clean. The pho is dished out quickly and comes to the table piping hot. Make sure you order the special Noodle City Drink. The owner (who is very nice) will know exactly what you are talking about. It's perfect on any day, but especially good on a hot day. The menu is vast and the owner knows every item by number. It's crazy, test him out. It's fun! I also had the Banh Beo. (picture attached) Oh and before I forget, unlike other pho places, Noodle City is open till 10 PM

I came here last weekend and it seems to be under new management. The workers were new, the menu was different, and the food was not good at all. I ordered a pho and it took very long for it to make it out of the kitchen and it came after my husband received his food (banh xeo). Really? Pho is usually one of the quickest dishes! They also had Vietnamese "Happy New Year" decorations. The Lunar New Year was half a year ago. At first I thought they were grand opening signs but no, we looked up the words and they were indeed new year signs.

Their bun is not consistent. I've had it sometimes where the noodles were either over cooked or undercooked and too watery. The best things to get here are the bahn bao, the guon (any of them: shrimp or their nem nuong one are my fav), their bahn xeo. They make really good spring rolls here so I usually come here just for that!

Pho is very good. But the reason for the 5 stars would be the outstanding lunch service I received today! Servers were attentive but, not overbearing. They did a great job keep the place clean and worked with a sense of urgency which is always appreciated in this industry.

The ice coffee is strong shizazzz. Wakes u up like pooww!$&*. The broth is good but I think can be a bit thicker. Can't go wrong with rice vermicelli and BBQ pork shrimp. Gets busy on weekend and hard to park. But there is a lot and if u get here mid day you should be fine.

one of the better pho/viet food in Monterey Park in my opinion. Monterey Park lacks authentic Vietnamese food, but this place stands out. Their pho is always ready (which is how Pho should be: hot boiling broth ready to go). Rare steak Pho with meatballs is my usual. Their other noodles like bun (rice noodle) with pork (thit nuong) with egg rolls is good too. The fish sauce is about right which makes the noodles good. One bad thing I ordered was their Banh Beo (rice cake with shrimp on small plates). It was prepare and probably just placed in microwave to heat up. That was quite a disappointment. Overall this place is great to go to after a late night to get hangover Asian food plus it's cheap!

We come here pretty often to get our pho fix. Most of the other items are pretty good too. What stands out about this place is their pho soup. It has a great savory broth, all you really need is a bit of lime, mmmm. I always get the iced coffee, mmm :). The service is always good. The location is easy to get to. It's located in a plaza that is convenient and not overcrowded. Come here to stay up to date with the current music videos ;)

3.5 stars... noodle city (not to be confused with every other cafe named noodle ________) is diagonally across from beijing pie house. it has plenty of seating but because it shares a small parking lot, parking can be a problem. especially at peak hours. friend + i ordered the B8 ... which is the vermicelli w/ shrimp + pork. they forgot our pork but it wasn't a big deal.. they brought it to us a few minutes later. i loved how large their portions were... it's almost 1.5x the size of normal bowls. they also give you lots of veggies (which i like). the shrimp is standard and all de-veined... cooked nicely with no charring. YAY! the pork slices are thin but they give you a fair amount so that you aren't left wanting. i think the only thing i didn't like was that the noodles were kind of dry (hence the 3.5 stars). i had to keep putting sauce on it to keep it more moist. music is a bit loud, but you can request them to turn it down a bit... overall.. cool place to eat, chat and catch up. :)
